Alright chaps, Ive been experiencing a bit of slowdown recently in some games and know my computer has a lot more potential than its currently using. Im wondering what the best steps to upgrading its current components would be.

My current system:

Processor
Intel? Core?i7-2600 Quad Core (3.40GHz, 8MB Cache)
Motherboard
ASUS? P8Z68-V: USB 3.0, SATA 6GBs
Memory (RAM)
8GB SAMSUNG DDR3 DUAL-DDR3 1333MHz (2 X 4GB)
Graphics Card
1.25GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 570
Hard Disk
750GB WD CAVIAR BLACK WD7502AAEX, SATA 6 Gb/s, 64MB CACHE (7200rpm)

Now im quite a noob when it comes to computer components, I built this one through a third party with recommendations made throughout (its 3 years old now).

RAM looks the best first step to upgrade, alongside adding a SSD Hard Drive.

Other stuff incase id need to upgrade these alongside other stuff.

Power Supply
CORSAIR 650W ENTHUSIAST SERIES? TX650 V2-80 PLUS? BRONZE
Processor Cooling
SUPER QUIET 22dBA TRIPLE COPPER HEATPIPE CPU COOLER

Just buy a SSD.

That's it.

Some point later this year (XMas sales) or early next year buy a new GPU if you play demanding games.

upgrading RAM is a waste of money for your system.

Nice one, is there any particular SSD thats got the best price to quality ratio?

Im looking to spend less than 100GBP in my first investment, not sure if its worth holding out and saving money to spend more or if this is satisfactory amount.

Crucial M500 and Samsung 840 EVO have been popular , but others out there are just as good if not better.

Awesome nie one, those are perfectly in my price range too, think im gonna pick up the 840 Evo as ive heard about it in passing before too. Ill read deeper into them both too.

Question though, in regards to the improvement given by the SSD, will it just be loading times or will it increase my performance in video games too?
