P.S. This makes the second time I am asking.
I have done my homework and I am well aware of what PR has to offer.
Apparently a few people like it but I have no interest in it at this time.
Please delete my account so that there won't be a dead link attached to my email.
Moving on,
Thanks

PR is old and a big chunk of the original playerbase that brought it so far (next to the constant development and support), has moved onward. You can't expect it to last forever and the problem being here that with many older and furthermost welcoming players gone, you have these half arsed "experts", who "know" the game and spread their arm chair operator wisdom to others, while also being simply impolite in general. The DEVs left playing are also far and few in between but you can't blame them not to commit their time to the game, while already developing it.
Funnily enough most of the forum lurkers play less than the average server pubbie.

I found PR very welcoming and I think it still is.
Getting into a game is not (only) a task of the community you join, but also your own.
PR gameplay is very sensible. A single person can ruin a whole round if he doesn't know how stuff works. There is no arrogance in here. I'd say 90% of new players fit in very well, join INF squads and learn stuff before they try everything without giving a fuck. But the 10% that is left causes that 'arrogance' you talk about.
Would be great if you bring some examples too...
Admin abuse can be reported in the Server feedback forums.
Player abuse can be reported in the Server's website.

For a game this old it's hard to expand, that seems relatively logical to me. We are reaching 10 years and we still have more then 200 players online all day. For a mod that is really not bad. If you find any other multiplayer mods with that type of support let me know.
We still get new players every day none the less, and while the learning curve is more steep then the average game it can indeed be a bit tricky to feel very welcome. Specially if you run into some of the more impatient fellas around here But you have that in every single game. You probably don't notice it in other games cause those don't have an actual community to begin with. There is nothing to learn in those games as they are simple enough for a 10 year old to play it. There is no communication needed and you won't notice who you are playing with. It's different in PR as it's a smaller community with an extensive amount of communication (mumble, chat, this very active forum). So it's much easier to run into the wrong person and actually hearing what they think.
Also don't judge the game by it's forum? (of which I think there is actually nothing wrong with btw) That's seems a bit illogical? I doubt COD sells 20 million copies cause they have a hippie flower friendly forum base.
Anyway, this type of thread pops up every month, and every month we have to say the same thing: it happens everywhere. 90% is cool, 10% is not. Don't judge everyone the same. But make your own evaluation to stick around or not. It won't matter in the end. And always start with a smile. Cause if you are arrogant yourself you can expect the same in return

Na I was actually thinking what do you expect us to do about?
There is no doubt a bunch of jackasses in the game, as there are in every game (if not more so in most games IMO) but there is very little we can do about it. Hell even with my Dev tags on some sh*tty little admins think they can even have a go at me some times I play as they think they know best...
Spoiler for rant:
Like one time on this server (not going to name names) an admin was taking the side of this random pubby, one manning a tank squad, over my tank squad full of players (all mates of mine and one of us wanted to SL our tank squad), saying there couldn't be two tank sqauds and saying we had to join his squad, since he made his a split second before ours, even thou we where letting him join our squad if he wished, which resulted in all of us leaving the server as we didn't want to be lead by some prick (could tell from his chat that he was) and he nor the admin where going to budge even thou it was pretty obvious to everyone we where in the right and the admin just wanted to flex his muscles for the fun of it...
But the majority of our player base (including most admins) is really good IMO, you just have to find the right ones and stay away from the asses.
As for you not finding PR fun, tbh PR was never made to appeal to the masses when it first started out. It in fact exceeded our expectations on how many people it did appeal to over the long run but if you find BFBC2 and COD your kinda games, perhaps PR isn't something for you but then again, maybe you haven't fully given it a chance? I would try finding a good squad with something like "Teamwork" or "Mumble Infantry" etc in its squad name and you may find you have some really awesome games full of tactics and teamwork, if you can put up with the slightly bits of boredom having to walk/ride to objectives over some distances etc in-between the fire fights etc which fast paced gamers can't really cope with too much.

If the forum Mod could take care of it I would be much obliged.
Why dont you discuss with us? If you have proper ideas how the community can improve, don't step back and delete your account.

I haven't played PR since v0.5. The latest patch caught my eye and I figured I'd hop back in. When you have a legit squad wanting to work together, man the mod is so much fun! However, there seems to also be quite the opposite at times. I see a lot of foreign players who don't speak English playing on an US server. They'll take a squad slot and lock it with maybe 4 people tops.
I just left a game where we lost one helicopter because the guy didn't know how to fly (luckily he crashed it after we got out). The second transport helo we hop into takes off. "Hey we need to go to North Village." "Russia, no English." "...then why are you flying a transport helicopter?" "No English please." WTF? I mean if you want to join a US server from another country, whatever. Speak the language though please.

My first impression of PR (some 8 or 9 years ago) was that I didn't know what was going on. I tried it once, tried to get in a helicopter, and died. I recall someone typing into chat "Do you know why you are dying?" I did not know, and just left the server and gave up.
Fast forward a couple of years, and I saw another trailer of the latest version of the mod. I figured I would try it again. This time, I read the manual. WOW!!! What a lot of cool stuff you could do. I dl'd the mod and tried it again. This time, armed with some knowledge, I had a great time and the rest is history. This is hands down my favorite game/mod/waste of time. Well, not quite a waste of time, I actually feel like I'm doing something positive when I play this game.
You will meet all sorts of people in this game, good and bad and somewhere in between. It's like a little microcosm of life. Some people just want to see the world burn.
If you ever see me leading a squad, hop in. I never lock it. I will take as much time as needed or as the battlefield conditions warrant to teach and help in any way I can. I think there are lots and lots of people like me in this community.
Good luck and don't give up. If you think the videos and youtubes of this game or awesome, you have no idea and great this game can be!

I think most people got started when they tried some old version of the mod and were terrible at it so they quit and then hopped back on years later and became good players. That seems to be the most common story around here.
