Hello, always when i do some feed back i like do a video about it to prove put all information to do a precise feed back.

so i wanted to learn to do a map, more specifically i want to do a stress test map to test from the handle, speed, mechanics to see if the tank is follow the real life specs.

but i don't wanna start a big job like that with no interest of the devs and it will be actually used as a tool to better give a feed back and some future patch.

yes i know i could use the actual maps to show the problem it self, but in a controlled situation i can remove the map design problem and see if is the tank problem.

if you guys agree i will let a list of the test and let me know what i don't need to do because is hard code or is not necessary.

1: climb rate. to see what degree the tank can climb like a hill

2: rough ground. to cheek if the tank slide in certain degree sideways or get stuck is some small holes

3: speed test, to see if the tank follow the real life speed in case since the game speed count not work im about to do a rule and measure in what time he do i know is hard code to do a speed test for difference in street to offroad so i will not test that

4: fall damage and ran damage, cheek if the tank get to much damage if hit another tank or a object

5 :o bject climb, if he can climb small objects like: fallen trees or wreckage.

6: water speed/deep water support to check in what case the tank get damage o cant across water

for now i will do that job for the tank but maybe APC will also get this kind of test.

i also get ispiration in tose videos:

Hey all, I made this level quickly a bit ago when playing with a load of vehicle code and wanted to test its results ingame. The map features road testing with a drag race track, different materials, small hilly area, climb gradient and side slope testing, fording level testing and a bit more.

Its nothing special just a simple test map. This map has been setup for PR but any other mod is welcome to use it but the custom statics in it do use some PR textures that are not included in the map, you can use the bf2materials.exe to change them to something else since you can't use them in your mod without permission but all the stuff included in this download below anyone is free to use them as they wish, with proper credit to me of course :)

It was made back in 2009 so it will need its files updated in order to work with the current release, and as per the topic its free for use in w/e way you like, other than the PR textures some of the custom statics use which are not allowed to be published outside of PR without permission, which you shouldn't need to do.

Personally I would find it useful. I think it's a great idea. I don't think most people would care for it though.

A problem with testing it's ability to climb steep terrain is the actual map..

I don't know, but on some maps I can literally climb a vertical mountain, no problems. Yet on some maps I have trouble climbing a small hill. I don't know if it's a map problem, or it's just me.

Which is why my test map above has multiple ramps with different materials (grass, sand, tarmac etc) encase that has any effect on a vehicle's ability to climb a slope.

So, I guess the question is...

Will we have submersible tanks in PR? Because I would really want to see a T-90 with a 3 meter snorkel. :D

If it exists in real life and it's military and cool, it should definitely be in PR. Y'know, just asking.
