Today we litteraly felt out of the sky twice one time with Apache on bijar and an other time on saaremaa with HAVOC . We were damaged but not burning and at some point we just lost power and crashed.

How much where you damaged?
There is a chance to get heavily disabled when between 40-20% HP. For choppers this includes the main rotor. The chance is higher when you are below 20% HP.
The apache starts bleeding at ~73% and starts burning at 10%.

Shaking starts at 60% and gets worse at 35%. Beeping starts at 20%.
I guess you were below 40% health and just got unlucky.

Why is this happening ? I find this feature realy game breaking in my opinion , randomness is the enemy of gameplay

I think it's a fair trade off from the randomness of the AA missles which even when they hit sometimes not take out a gunship. Also a fairly 'realistic' feature sine high-tech systems tend to fail when damaged.
I remember for example how often the cobra on muttrah can make it back to the carrier even when heavily damaged and then land and get repairs. This feature fairs out the game a bit.

what mats/weedkiller said. this is not a bug.
your engine just stop working as it was heavily damaged.
this disable feature is better than just blowing up right mid air, to simulate that your engine is not always critically damaged and you can make it back to carrier for example.
if you want to code it up another way feel free to make a new suggestion, best with a working proof of concept.
