Why did you guys add Blood and cussing to a game that has almost none?
I play singleplayer only so I was able to remove the blood but the language is harder to remove because you have to find the file with the nasty word in it and then delete it.

Maybe adding a option in the launcher for offline players to disable blood and language, it just ruins the mod.

Thanks you so much for such a quality mod! Why ruin it?

Cussing and blood are a part of life, especially in the military. They certainly don't ruin the mod. The voices can be replaced with BF2 voices if you just copy the relevant ones over from the BF2 folders.

I do somewhat agree though, there wasn't any particular reason to include bad language in the commo-rose voice files. But as adults, we can filter out things we don't like.

I know I would bleed and be cussed at if I jumped in someone's car...

I found the new French voices a bit OTT, a bit melodramatic too. And no I'm not 14 more the inverse.

I knew a 88M SSG who would not allow guys in his squad to use bad language. It was quite a surprise considering the (unprofessional) frequent use of F/S/MF/GD I experienced when I was in.

The blood is for realism (there's blood when you get shot) and it serves an additional purpose, makes it a bit easier to know when you're actually hitting your target.

None of the above ruins the mod. There are far worse things that still don't ruin the mod. I personally can't stand swearing, but saying it ruins the mod is quite extreme. The only word I can remember hearing in-game was "Hell" when you fly outside the map area anyway...

Doesn't matter what anyone else thinks about the words in the game. I don't mind them either, and I certainly don't think they ruin it, but maybe for him they do.

There are tons of more swearing in AAA titles, like BF4.
This is a community mod and the goal was always to make it as realistic as possible with all the engine limitations. Therefore as theres more swearing irl, then this realism mod deserves cursing for the warzone atmosphere.
Theres alot more swearing over prmumble than the few voice commands.

I have no respect for someone who'd play this kind of game around children. There's a reason why games like this are usually listed as 16+ for fuck sake.

The only "feedback" he's left is that cussing ruins the mod. So, it's more obvious that he/she is offended by it.

A mod such as PR involves a lot of art. 3D artists, texture artists, some of the coding is pure artistry on top of the sound art. If you're offended by art, look the other way, don't expect the artist to change their creation...

Once you mature to a certain point, cursing won't phase you.

Tbh, BF2 is rated 'teen' by ESRB and therefore can include blood,minimal cursing and violence. PR is part of that and follows the same rating.

Unfortunately PR cannot have a 'blood on/off' option that would work serverside easily.

PR used to have sand/dust puffs when somebody got hit and was deemed unrealistic and hard to see. So we went for a more realistic change to make it look like blood puffs.

I can somewhat understand OP, but given you are the 0,0001% who has this opinion I wouldn't expect a change I'm afraid.

As others said already you can replace the sounds with the default Bf2 ones. Im not sure if all languages in PR are supported in Bf2, but those that arent you probably dont understand anyway (e.g. viatmamese)

its the same kind of discussion we used to have with the Carmageddon game, it was to gory when you had to run over pixalated people in an age where the avarage screen resolution wasnt higher then 640x480 but once they changed the people to aliens in an adjusted release i believe for the German market it was fine.

You still run over life forms so its the same deal, same for modern FPS, its OK to kill as long as you dont see and hear it.

both are IMO a total hypocracy.

Not 100% sure though, but doesn't the PR launcher count changed voices as modified content aswell?

Yes, but he said he only plays single player and already changed the blood effect.

I agree with the OP. This film also falls in line with how far player values have fallen. Please watch it and bump this until everyone has seen this thread.
