PR Statistics / Useless Information

Good Afternoon,
I was spouting out some useless information about PR last night and thought I would put together a thread for it. There is a ton of Urban Myth out in the PR community about various things. I have found that most of this is generated by the lack of reading the manual and not keeping up with the update changelogs.
1. Prone, crouch, or standing (none are faster or slower) when you build a FOB by yourself, it is 45 shovels. Please note that this can increase by 2 or 3 if you don't immediately start building the FOB after it is placed due to deterioration. Now, if 2 people are shoveling, it takes 35 or 36. I am curious as to the variable here that would not allow for at least half as many needed as it appears it only decreases the number of shovels needed by 20% 'ish.
2. It takes 2 minutes to walk, not sprint, 300 meters.
3. It takes 5.5 minutes to drive a logi from IDF main to Bijar if you get in a logi and blast straight to the city.
4. It takes around 25 PKM mags and 8 RPG's, give or take, to destroy a cache. Yes, it can be done without C4.
5. It takes 4.5 minutes, give or take, to get to the city in Burning Sands with a logi.
6. When a commander in the field dies, it only takes away the standard ticket number as everyone else. I still hear that a commander that dies in the field takes away 10, 15, 20, or 25 tickets per death.
7. After testing last night, it appears that medics cannot arrest civies with epipens. Only shotguns and zip ties.
Post your useless information here.

I have a feeling I've asked this before, but I'm not sure so I'm putting it out there anyways. Does holding shift when you're sniping actually increases your accuracy/ decreases deviation? A spotter of mine once told me that, and since then I've been doing it and telling other snipers I work with, but now that I think about it, I'm not even sure if it actually does anything.

It does nothing Steve. Heard that rumor for the first time.
Selecting the sniper weapon after already selected, either by scrolling/clicking or using keyboard, will emit a ~9 second breathing sound. This is not affecting accuracy either but is just supposed to help you counting your time until your are dead on accurate after movement.

There used to be a "breathing" sound effect in older versions for the sniper kit. Basically by holding down the "3" key, or the equivalent you had for your rifleslot, it started up a breathing sound that would stabilize after a few seconds. Useful as indicator on how long to wait with the horrendous deviation between 0.8 and 0.9 but contrary to common belief contributed nothing to actual accuracy. It was just a crutch.

The insurgent commander also only costs one intel point, not 10 like some *people* believe.

The maximum insta-kill range of a claymore (US one for example) is 35m if the target is infront of it.

(These may have changed, but I don't think so).
Health below 75% = Bleeding
1 Field Dressing = 25% health
When revived Health = 9%
So revive + 3 times field dressing = 84% health.
Cheers, Murkey.

Also when dropping field dressing the old one disappears. If you drop them too fast, they will vanish before they have any effect on you. Causing people to rage why they are still bleeding after 4 field dressing.

Im prety sure its 40m instead of 35m.

If i remember right in 1.0 the power of field dressing got reduced to 20% from 25%.

We all know that you can get an estimated distance between you and the marker as a squad leader. To go a little further, if it says "150 m", that means it can be any distance between 125 and 175 m. (NOT 150 and 200 m, which is what I thought before).

Brisk, I believe it's actually between 101 and 150m if it says 150m. Test it with the mark 1m from you.

walk the mark to find something closer to true range
walking it east from you, it jumps from 50 to 100m
x----------------|
___________^this is the 100m then
walk it east again until it jumps to 150m
x---------------------------|
_____________^ if your target is occupying this ground, then you're looking at 125m
this is how to zero mortars without a calculator
good luck enemy fobs
swamp, there is no useless information!
i'd like to know how far AA missiles travel before they disappear. sometimes you lock onto a flare and it kills something 5km away. is every errant AA that misses flying for 2 hours into space? we can fly that high, so it wouldn't be all that surprising

It rounds to the nearest 50. Brisk is correct.
Code: Select all
int rangeValue = Convert.ToInt32(Math.Round(_range.Clamp(50.0f, 15000.0f) / 50.0f) * 50);
It will display 100 if the true range is (75, 125], it will display 150 if it is (125, 175].

I have no idea how bullet drop works.
I'd be a happy if a dev filled me in.

Always heard it was from 600m but could be nonsense.
