The War of the Factions Tournament!
Announcement and Admin Applications!

IntroAnnouncement and Admin Applications!
Have you ever wanted to play PR in a way you've never played it before, were every round is one piece of a bigger picture? Or maybe you've tinkered around with the idea that some maps would be more interesting with other vehicles, or, for that matter, totally different factions?
PRTA have arranged War of the Factions a couple of times now, and we feel that it's time to take the next step with this concept. Therefore, we introduce the War of the Factions Tournament, a continuous project which aims to fill out those things we feel are missing to get the ultimate Project Reality experience!

The idea behind the War of the Factions ("WF") is simple, and borrows mechanics from the real time strategy genre: the commanding officers choose what faction they want to use, along with which vehicles they want to field for a certain battle. Every asset costs a certain amount of points, and whatever points are left after the CO's have finished shopping is used as tickets during the actual battle. To add further depth, commanders may also adopt different doctrines, such as close air support, armored warfare or mechanized infantry, which alters the cost of certain assets. There are, of course, some map limitations, because it's pretty damn hard to land a F16 on Fools Road, but other than that, the possibilities are almost endless.
Battles and Campaigns
The campaign itself is fairly simple in design. Think tug of war, except the other way around: you try to push the enemy along a line by winning battles, the team that gets pushed out loses.
The further you push the enemy from the middle, the more tickets he'll start with. However, any tickets the winning team has left at the end of a round is carried over to the next round. To give some flexibility to the defending team, they're allowed to choose one of three maps to play at each node, along with choosing the starting point on said map.
Administrators
We need people, who are willing to give up playing in the tournament to help us administrate. We want this to be a community effort, so if you feel like giving it a shot, sign up as an administrator;
PRTA and the PR Community
We would like to invite the community to help us organize this tournament. The PRTA Managment will choose the Lead Administrator based on a majority vote, this also includes the administrators. We will consider experience, time commitment and people skill.
What comes next?
After we have selected our lead admin and admin team, we will start working on creating the workflows, concepts, rules and procedures of the administration.
More updates on the tournament and applications will come! Stay tuned.
