Greetings everyone! After a hiatus of four years I am reinstalling bf2 and Project reality. However I have some questions.

1. Can I just install patch 1.5 or do I have to install every patch released before that?

2. I know PR is multiplayer oreinted but I was wondering if I can play single player skirmishes and if the AI bots are improved over vanilla BF.

Please forgive me if I have posted this in the wrong forum or if the answers to my questions are right under my nose. Thank you very much for your time!

1. From vBF you need both patches, not just 1.5 iirc (been a while)
2. Yes the bots are better (as good as BF bots can get ) just go to cooperative and load up a single player map

Thank you very much CTRifle for the warm welcome! Quick question. What do you mean by "both patches"? As you can see in Battlefield 2 | Files | Official Patches | Game Front there are many patches for BF2. Do I just install 1.41 and 1.5? Sorry for these questions. Thank you for any assistance.

After you install vBF2, install 1.41 then 1.5. You should be set to install PR after that.

I take it that vBF2 is the state that BF is in immediately after installing the discs (I have the original retail discs)? Once again I apologize for the noob level questions!

If your original original CD is below version 1.12, download and install the 1.22 FULL Cumulative Patch.

install BF2.
run BF2 once, in corner you'll see version number.
(optional if needed: download and install the 1.22 FULL Cumulative Patch.)
install patch 1.41 full
install patch 1.5
run vanilla BF2 singleplayer once to test.
shut BF2.
install PR from the newest torrent.
run PR,
allow PR to update.
create a new user account on PR's own master server that replaced Gamespy master server.
Log in.
Join a game.

Single player AI has gotten somewhat better due to some dedicated people in the community.
