I know that there has probably been a ton of threads regarding this. Was just playing on HOG and some MerK dude said he knew how to fix the issue. I don't remember the name but it went something like this as he wanted to speak to an admin directly and not spell it out in chat.

Something about teamswapping everyone after everyone on both sides emptied all squads and then something else that I can't quite remember as the commands weren't clear.

I've heard this in the past that the squad bug can be fixed without restarting the server but have never seen it. In my opinion, it is urban legend unless someone has a dadgum video.

Lastly, it was funny as after the teamswap happened, all the former blufor guys were running around with blufor kits as insurgents... kind of funny...

I remember being told that squad bugs happen, when a person makes an early squad, then they teamswitch while still being in the squad.

But teamswaping everyone would make the blufor whores cry.

I do not believe it can be fixed. It gets fundamentally broken

No video but you can take my word that I have seen it a few times before (I have many years as a Server Admin). It was fixed by simply leaving the server alone, playing the round and by the next one it was completely gone. However, this only happened when the team with the squad bug was able to make a few squads at least.

We found (what seemed like) a fix a few months ago - I'm sure the DEV's have or are testing the consistency of it.

Your team has squad bug? Swap teams, now it is the other teams problem. Sounds like a great way to "fix" it

Yes, this is true. However it is only viable if you can get atleast 7 squads going.

And that would be? I didnt hear anything about a fix, but then again i cant see the server admin forums.

I've actually saw merk admins teamswapping everyone (forcing the person who caused the bug to switch back) and it worked, like 4-5 months ago. The other team had not any issues after that. Seems legit because exactly switching while being in an early sq is what causes the bug.

I would go under a more in-depth explanation but I don't want the concept of this getting out because people can maliciously use it in their favor against other servers.
