What's up with the hacking lately?

Well in light of the other thread,
http://realitymod.com/forum/t13160-so-i ... inion.html
and this one just posted by ECGN's Bladerunner
http://www.ecgnetwork.com/forums/showth ... post318155
hacking is seeming to be more and more prominant these days. A new hack is suppose to be available according to the other thread, so now everyone, including people involved in the PR community and forums are seeming to be more and more suspect or involved with this cheating. So what is going on exactly?
It is becoming harder and harder to tell what is cheating too by the ease of killing people with guns like the M4, all the lucky headshots going around, micro insta prone bunnies with M4s or any guns at that, and just weird stuff because of the engine in general.
I mean look at this.
You have to be pretty sad to use all that to win a game in which points don't mean ****.

Yeah, it's pretty lame. I think the best place to find hackers is that desert push map with all the hills and sandstorms where it's very hard to see on. If someone is shooting at you from way in the distance of the sand, it's very probable they are hacking. I don't hack and I have a hard time seeing infantry running around sometimes.

Lol, that hack is a joke. Do you see the player names? THEY'RE ALL BOTS! This hack is a scam. And also, that menu looks very photoshopped, the item names made up.

The next PR build I believe will have measures to hopefully counteract some of these instances happening.

In my opinion it only appears as though more people are hacking. There probably always were hackers, it's just that the admins and servers are getting more sophisticated, and therefore catching them.

That could be a clan, but it was posted on ECGN's website by Bladerunner, so I believe him and we all know this kind of hack is around anyway.
And yea, I would like to know from people who have the game on the lowest, dirt poor lowest levels if they can see through the sand on a map like Al Falujah region or through the grass on a map like Mao because way too many people just randomly fire and get headshots or see you out of the blue for it all to be coicidence.(sp?)

Actually if you have a decent commander on that map he can spot enemies for you to fire at, ever noticed all the grenade launchings? Just fire at the commanders target indicator. Which I agree is lame and to me the UAV is one of the worst departures from the original BF1942/DC game and I was initially hoping PRmod developers would have omitted that feature.
About additional hacking lately; sigh probably true to some degree due to the high learning curve of PR and new converts since .4 release, but I'd be willing to bet a lot of the spot on killing is due to a higher skill level from the veteran players plus familiarity of the maps and common kill zones.
Sadly the future to anti hack prevention, will probably be closed source code with access to the game exclusively through a locked pay to play server. In essence you'll be renting your game character each time you play and never have access to uploading script to the server.

I'm glad you posted that, so some people can see that (at least some of) the bitching about hackers is justified.

That would be F'n brilliant if you could. Something which (preferably) forcefully and irrevocably reformats the hard drive/s
of the culprit and encrypts it with 256 bit Blowfish against being used again... or anything similarly subtle...

UAV has not been in PR since er.. 0.1 I believe.
Commanders can still zoom, but cannot spot since.. 0.25 iirc.
wrt hacking, we are adding soem stuff in v0.5 to help with this. There's only so much we can do and PR will only ever be as hack proof as BF2.
We could encourage Admins to run PunkBuste
d but some may not be in a position to do so.

Here is a screenshot of their hack too.
They actually have a site and forum where they post screenshots of their hacks and talk about them too.

Can't believe some people are so willing to play this game with shitty looking graphics and see-through walls, only to gain some virtual... thingie, that no one appreciates anyway

The .:iGi:. servers are now streaming to Punksbusted and we'll be keeping a close eye on suspect players using PB screenshots.

I like that style Sandy_Beret. msxsecurity i'm sure will only last so long before they disappear...

I wish all servers would bump up their security.

couldn't it be slowrd almost to a stop by the server admin screenshotting everyone in the game and checking the ss ?
But what i'm gathering is if that menu above isn't up and all the cheats are off you can't catch them. So if i'm right, the admin has to warned or get lucky to ss when the hack is running because PB can't detect it.
it's simply going to be standard practice to ss anyone with a large score, and most often when they don't have rank on the character which wuold indicate a defective sperm type fake name.
We are now forced into the position of giving up some liberty in order to gain some security or else accept that some players will hack and just ignore them since points don't matter.
I vote to hunt them down by using this forum and watching the high scoreing players more carefully.

Yeah on .:iGi:. we will be doing this as standard practice.

If you have a good score on ECGN servers you are getting pbss taken of you trust me. By you I mean anyone with a good score.
