Unable to start game.

I've tried restarting my computer and using a different account.. It still gives me this same message.

You're on the right track, it's a .con file that is probably broken.

You can try this trick:
start prbf2.exe in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\...\Battlefield 2\
It will say "you must use the launcher.
shut it down , then try to use the launcher.

You might need to reinstall, :\

I've never found out why the .con files in Documents\ProjectReality\Profiles are incorrectly created/written to by the PRBF2.exe process.
