[56K WARNING] PRT: Operation Last Beirut

Dear Project Reality citizens,

While you're enjoying your hot meal, the soldiers of the Pan Atlantic Coalition just had a crucial battle last Saturday and were fighting for your freedom, internally called Operation Last Beirut. Our intelligence department tracked a movement around Beirut who call themselves EMF with a kinda red flag and seeming to be an aimless team just fighting for attention, but disturbing the peace of the civilians living in Beirut. Little we know about this team, but we're sure we'll know more from them in the coming weeks. Your freedom protectors acted quick and aggressive and quickly occupied Beirut city last Saturday. EMF declared us war, but we will NOT back down and we will fight them to their death to protect our homes and bring this so called force to justice.

The Supreme Commander of the Pan Atlantic Coaltion took his time to give a speech:
SCO.Spook from PAC

Ladies and gentleman, children of all ages. After a long battle of almost 3,5 hours and the great effort from the brave soldiers and officers, I can state that the PAC successfully repelled the attack on Beirut from EMF. The residents of this city do no longer have to be afraid of being oppressed, by anyone. Dear citizens, I will personally make sure that the protector of your freedom (PAC) will protect the rights of each of one of you on this planet and beyond!
We had an embedded journalist on the frontline and made some highlights out of it. Please see below for his report.

END OF THIS MESSAGE.

--------

Below you see some highlights taken during battle. Please note that the crew of the Department of Propaganda is undercover in battle and shouldn't be spoken to when recognized as this might endanger their lives. Also, the crew has to deploy without being detected so not everyone could be captured on film.

Team Startup

Everyone in the team knew their roles well, the logis took the lead with the armored M113 on their asses and drove to their designated positions.

BISON Squad

The BISON squad lead by Splatters got deployed by the transport squad pretty quickly.

Image

After being deployed, the squad managed to get a nice position and got in contact almost directly. I had a fun time following this squad but staying undetected by the enemy. At one point the BISON squad got sense of an enemy outpost armed with AA on rooftop of a T-Shape. With order from the commander Squadleader Splatters took his squad to the enemy position.

Image

After getting in position, the reported T-Shape was found directly in their sights. Instead of going inside and face an enemy force, squadleader Huntermed got a better idea and threw a grenade (silently) at the AA!

Image

Image Image

The AA got neutralised and the squad took fire almost directly after this. What a great play from this squad!

CAS Squad

At this point, our CAS Squad got in contact with the enemy HAVOC. With great spotting from the team, the crew got them in their sights pretty quickly. Our excellent crew managed to get them to bail their expensive havoc.

Image

With neutralizing the enemy air, our team had a moment of air dominance. The team reported several times about the annoyance of the enemy tank. The CAS squad needed a laze, but the enemy tank was playing smart by hiding behind their lines. It was FrostyVO from the PANDA squad who took the opportunity to risk his life and go BEHIND enemy lines. That's right soldiers, this kind of encouragement is what gets this team to winning! FrostyVO walked along the edge of the map to get behind the enemy lines and got as close to 100m from the enemy tank! With his spotter kit, FrostyVO lazed the tank for the CAS squad.

It was at this point I realized how beautiful and powerful our apache is. While we are getting our feet dirty, this powerful machine was covering our heads. I looked up in the sky and didn't hesitate for a second to make a nice footage of it.

Image

Back to the laze, FrostyVo was still laying down and like me trying to stay hidden. The enemy tank made the stupid move to go into the open while he was lazed! Like a tiger going after his prey, the CAS squad got in position and killed the enemy tank!

MANTIS squad

If you wondered why the roads aren't flat like they used to be or why you see an alley full of enemy corpses, it's because of these soldiers. The MANTIS Squad were managing the mortars in this battle. They had a hard time to stay in position tho. These brothers were ambushed in the early beginning of the game, but after repelling this attack, their enemy CAS (which wasn't shot yet during that time) knocked on their heads.

It was the excellency of Squadleader MasterNimrod by coming with a new plan. They got deployed very quick by the trans squad into a new, more covered area for mortars. Just in minutes the MANTIS squad managed to built a whole new mortar firing depot.

I was astonished by the teamwork of this squad. Squadleader MasterNimrod sure made a great team out of his squad!

TANK AGAIN!

The enemy tried to trick us by sending another tank into the field. It was the great battleplanning of HCO Ghostwolf who prevented us to get in panic. Armed with a HAT kit, soldier Soban killed the enemy T-90 with one shot which was surrounded by TWO FULL SQUADS! Now that is what I call having balls.

Image

CLOSE ENCOUNTERS

You see, rolling with the squads is what really gives you a good impression of how the brotherhood is. I'm not a trained soldier at all, I'm just armed with my camera. It was them who saved my *** several time from enemy fire. Being close with them means also close-up footage. See below for a few close encounter shots!

BITING THE DUST

If there's something we managed during Operation Last Beirut, it's the way we managed to put fear into our enemy. They tried to attack us from everywhere, but we repelled their attack in every way. We lost some great soldiers that day, but their losses wasn't for nothing my brothers.

Supplies and Transport

You hear them and see them, often you blame them. Sometimes you thank them. I want to close this debrief by mentioning these soldiers. They do the 'dirty' job by flying along enemy fire twice often with a time pressure. If there's no pressure, they sit and wait in the mainbase for orders. Being a pilot means having balls, but also having patience. They are essential for the supplies on the field, especially the mortar squad.

Trans pilots be proud of your job, your commitment is very much appreciated. It was you guys actually who brought me home safely so I could write this story in all safety. So in the end, when Operation Last Beirut almost ended, I took a quick shot of you guys while I was walking back to my barracks. I thank you.

Thanks for your time folks. There is no reason for panic as the PAC will save and defend us from this evil. I will stay on the frontline with these brave soldiers to make sure you people back home know what's happening. Keep checking the news and do not forget to make love to your husband or wife and give big hugs to your children just tonight, as we all have to celebrate this glorious day!

Department of Propaganda signing off.

This story has been dramatized and fictionalized and it took a shit load of time. Also, footage could be taken from other than the specific battle mentioned above.

Epic, you need a journalist award for your bravery armed with only your camera! With this I can still get a bit of the feeling of the tournament, love it.

Some under-the-radar action provided by Fox squad.

Edit: captured from a practice game with PAC vs. "WoTF team"
They actually did put up quite a resistance.

From the same battle as the earlier propaganda-ninjas footage was captured.
That was from your practice battle against a WoTF team. Get yo facts straight.

A clear indication of how disorganized this supposed team called "PAC" really is.
Trying to deceive the public with your slander and lies, how despicable!

All jokes aside, looks like that OP took a lot of work.

Nice work, very creative!

We need stuff like this on a more regular basis, it gives a good sense of community. Holding events is great and all, but showing everyone what fun was had is a better sell for next event.

I've said it else where, but I'm really enjoying the PRT so far. Excellent fun and sportsmanship all round so far :D

Cheers, Murkey.
