PR and BF2 both crash on startup

After reinstalling windows, I haven't been able to get neither BF2 nor PR to go past the black screen at startup. I've tried reinstalling a few times, I removed the profiles folder, made sure VC++ and .Net are both installed, but still it refuses to work. I know the issue is not refresh rate, as the video.con file shows 60 Hz, which is correct for my display. I'm running out of ideas as to what the problem could be.

The system info log given by the launcher, if that's relevant:

EDIT: where is your BF2 installed? at M:\Pelit or M:\Pelit\PR ?

Try to run BF2 in windowed mode.
Make a copy of your BF2 desktop shortcut.

RRight click , properties, change to this :

"M:\Pelit\PR\BF2.exe" +fullscreen 0 +szx 800 +szy 600

Save it.
Then run that new shortcut.

Run PR in windowd mode:
start prlauncher->Options->Untick the fullscreen tickbox. CLICK APPLY.
run PR to test.

Also, any third party overlay programs can cause this blackscreen stall.

Overwolf, MSI afterburner, TS3 x64 overlay, Steam community overlay, etc. Make sure to turn them off completely.

Also turn off Shadowplay.

Make sure BF2.exe, PRLauncher.exe and PRBF2.exe are given exceptions in your firewall and antivirus.

Oh man, thanks a lot, got it to work now. Shadowplay was the cause. I didn't even suspect it since the overlay works so rarely.
