Serious Question about PR

Hey, what are we suppose to do now that you can no longer buy BF2? I have friends who are wanting to start playing the game and I don't know what to tell them. Since PR has it's own Masterserver can we use a pirated copy? What are we suppose to do to get new players.

You can still buy it

there are other initiatives that have went ahead to keep servers up, and yeah we have our own. If you "found" a version somewhere it would work iirc.

It has to be a legit Cd key. Otherwise it will ban you, and CD keys are locked to the first computer that connects to the master server. Downloading a pirated one from what I know will risk you getting banned, plus not even being able to use a real cd key if you buy one later. There are threads on this already.

I think its vierd that servers still enforce the cd-key thing, becouse EA has officialy abondoned the game, and could not care less about it. Bluedrake mentioned it in his video. And if the PR community wants to grow it will be easier if you can play with pirated copy as then the game is free2play.

CD Key checking is still useful as it allows bans to be enforced for cheaters / griefers etc.

The owners of these forums do not allow the discussion of using pirated software. The consistant message is that you only need a legitimate key to play the game - there is no way for PR to validate that you have a legally purchased key. Draw your own conclusions.

End of discussion. Read Noddys post again, but that's it from our side.

There's still ways to buy BF2. We're aware of the problem, but we can't suggest you to break the law.
