PC freezes

Hey guys!

I have lately been experiencing some problems regarding my PC. I've thought it might be the PSU failing on me but I wanted to come here and ask for your input incase it might be something else.

Problem is that my PC freezes when its been on for more than 2-5 minutes. If I havent turned it on for a while it takes a bit longer to freeze but once i've turned it on, it has frozen and I turn it back on again, it freezes pretty fast.

I've bought a Motherboard and CPU a year ago and I started experiencing random blue screens for about 4-5 months in and they became more frequent as time Went.
At the end it just freezes, the screen freezes and the mouse aswell. The fans seem to be working but Everything is just frozen. I tried waiting it out but it stayed like that for quite a while Before I just turned it off.

I tried starting in safe mode too see if there was any difference. It Went well for 5-10 minutes eventually it froze i safe mode to. My amatuer guess is that safe mode needs less wattage to run and therefore can keep on going for a longer while? Or am I totally off base?

I will check the forums frequently every day so I will be able to respond with Lightning fast speed!

Any help would be helpful..

thanks in advance

I'm far from an expert but that sounds more motherboard to me.

Can you not try another PSU I bought a second hand crappy 250W to test a mobo.

Oh its not that simple, it can be anything. Your specs for a start, and check that something is not overheating in the box. Check if all fan sinks are properly seated and not loose. Test your ram, test hdd, try replacing/reseating cables, clear any dust, try a live boot cd ( linux ). Bad PSU can kill everything literally. Seen it before.
