Hello gentlemen,
We're currently working on the M1 Garand Grenade Launcher for PR:WW2, and we need some help from military advisors regarding the technical side of this weapon.
Initially we'd like to know the maximum reachable distance by the grenade, and the angle required. Now, if you guys have any extra info we might wanna know, be my guest.
Cheers

This is only from the wiki though, 350 meters.

Yea the thing is that I found 200 yards as max distance on another website.

You wouldn't happen to know the muzzle velocity of the grenade would you?

No I don't know.
That's pretty much the aim of that topic actually.

M7 grenade launcher question. in US Military Rifles Forum
That's pretty much all I could find, at least there is a number for the velocity.

Nice ! Didnt think to get info from the blank round.
This made me look for the grenade's weight (the M9A1 -> 590g ) and I actually found the real max range : 285m.
The effective range is 100m. I dunno yet if this can be taken in account, but we never know.

Well, two ways this might be the case in r/l and done ingame. Either a, the sights only go up to 100m and past that its more of a guessing game for the range and b, deviation past 100ms is so large that its hard to hit a target past that range.

I don't think it will make a lot of difference if it is limited to 100m, with iron sights the fights are often done quite close up anyway, range isn't much of an issue especially with the maps being designed how they are, with hedgerows being placed every 100 metres or so.

Thanks for the heads up ! We'll discuss about this.

Found a few videos that will help:
Here's one of a hobbyist explaining the basic workings of the rifle grenade. (I actually never knew about the sight that could be attached until this video)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sv7m-jyy7Ng
Here's an video of some people firing a dummy grenade off of it in the desert. It also gives a quick screenshot of an army manual that shows the range of the grenade in different positions. 1-6
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vukYdgepSZk
You can see the huge amount of recoil and how cumbersome it is to fire this thing off.
From what I've seen from old footage it was mostly fired with the butt-plate in the dirt like a make shift mortar unless the soldier had to peek over a wall or something to get the shot off.
Hope this helps

Thanks for finding. It'll be used like all the other grenade launchers from PR. Also we didnt add any sight attachement as they were pretty rare on the WW2 battlefields, so the left hand thumb will be used for the sight instead.
