Shouldn't the defibrilators go?

In this mod, it seems odd to have them. I think a medic with a medic bag is all that is needed. If you are knocked unconcious from damage, maybe some smelling salts to wake you up or just have the medic have to hold the medic bag in place over your unconscious body to represent him working on you to revive you but shock paddles? I dont know.

your not unconcious. your critcally wounded.
and we all know that defibulators dont just start your heart they heal bullet wounds aswell
its not realistic but its, in there to improve team work.

Yea, they aren't realistic, but I get a real kick out of calling my squad to bring some suppression up front while I go revive someone.

they are going to stay in as they bring teamwork to the mod and they are crucial to keep your spawn times down.
they just simulate a medic helping someone on the field

Don't get rid of the shock paddles... maybe replace the model with a shot, but that's all.

The defibrilators are a mnemonic. A visual symbol to reference all the little bells and whistles a a medic may carry - just like the spanner is only a mnemonic for the Engineer's toolbag.

I think an animated shot of morphine would look sweet. But give them too many and it all goes saving private ryan.

Its actually a very good point. I mean this is a "reality" drivin game. Last time I checked the paddles need a power source to give out charges. Where is the power source? How about a big battery pack on top of the medics backpack..LOL. Also, what if its raining or there is moisture in the air, how about all that voltage kicking back into you..lol. Oh yeah, dont they use some kind of lubricant on the chest before the administer the paddles? I have been watching too much ER. I love the medic kit, it is a ton of fun and very important in the PR game., however, the paddles are not really the most realistic. I dont think it should be removed, but it is what it is....

Remove them, this is a reality mod, or is it?

Don't remove them
As Sandy pointed out for the less observant of you - the defibs like the wrench is a mnemonic - it is symbolic of the work that the medic does with a medikit. The animations of recusitating, stopping bleeding, patching up do not exist ingame and could quite possibly create problems if they were implemented (lag, animation loops, exploits...)

BF2 is already full of bugs, exploits and glitches, a few more wouldn't do any more harm would it

ok.. this mod is for realism. but we have to have fun too. and why focus on the defibrilators? as people say: they show the "symbolic" way to revive someone. patching up and so on.. keep them.

Do you want to code it and animate it?

Just wanted to point out that there are very lightweight automated external defibrilators on the market. You can even buy them from Amazon. Whether or not there are military issue ones, I have no idea, but they are becoming household items, and just about every fire/rescue and police vehicle carries one, now.

and that is why we only give the medic around 5 charges of zaps before he needs to "reload" his battery

Being in real mortal danger promotes teamwork, knowing you have an infinite number of lifes doesn't.

if u want rid of defibs and want 2 be in mortal danger go play ArmA, that game is a combat sim, it is everything u have just said, and it SUCKS BALLS, theres no teamwork AT ALL
