Knife is broken. Why 2 hit kills? Makes it completely useless in close combat, and halfway suicidal for stealth kills.

Have you tried using shotgun? Implementation of body armour was not a good thing.

Aim for ze butt!
Seriously now, I've killed enemies with my fists as an insurgent... I'm sure you can make do with a 2 hit knife.

It does take 2 hits for a kill. It kind of makes sense though?

I was on Ramiel yesterday and I snuck up on a sniper and stuck a machete in him and instant kill. Rarely I get a two hit knife kill - and that only happens in actual combat with the enemy, and not by surprise.

Yep, should be a 1 hit kill. But be ready for a follow up stab, hit detection I guess?

With bayonet its usually one hit, but with knife its almost guaranteed that its 2 hits or more. And its not buggy hit detection, because the victims are taking damage from the first stab. I guess it has something todo with body armor. Hitting legs or head is still insta kill.

Knifes and bayonets deal same damage. Knifing the head is instant dead-dead, knifing the torso on unarmored soldiers is instant wounded, hitting anything else should require multiple hits. This is what the numbers from code suggest.
In practice hitting legs usually makes instant wounded as well and bayonets deal more damage. This is due to interactions with projectile speeds and collision etc.
Either way knifing is not meant to be a reliable way of killing someone.

The two hit kills make it nearly useless, combined with the low 'fire rate' of the knife. Maybe it would make sense to have two hit knife kills if the enemy couldn't simply sprint away at full speed. Please change it back to one-hit kills. Try knifing someone on the ground and having them spin around and shoot you in the face, it's problematic.

Aim for the weak spots.
Knifing is discouraged, and I think that's good. Isn't a(n old) Splinter Cell game, after all.

it's already hard to land one single knife blow on an enemy. It's just comical to stab an enemy in the back and have him turn around and blow you away.

I would rather say that it is comical to attempt to stab someone in first place. For me knifing is solely for "fun" kills

Knifing is completely useless anyways for the purpose of stealth. If you kill someone with a knife, they won't hear your gun, but they'll hear the fearsome girly screams of their team mate over mumble =P

Absolutely ****. I knifed two enemies yesterday night, both kills required two hits in torso area. Then I tried knifing legs, two hits. It used to be one hit, why change it?
