Crash!

Hello all,

Recently, I have been crashing to desktop. Most of the time this happens while a map is loading, or while I am in game, if I "esc" out of the game, this will cause a crash too.

I searched the forum and tried the various fixes but nothing seems to work. Any help would be appreciated.

Update. It seems to crash on the loading screen when I get to the "textures" part. I have lowered my video textures to low, but still no go. Any ideas?

shaders might have been corrupted,
prlauncher->Utilities->Clear Shader cache

Still not working.

I cleared the cache and tried to start a game. It is getting so bad, I can not even load a map before it crashes. Once I get into the map, all seems to be okay, but when the round ends I CTD again. Any more ideas?

Not sure where to start, so here is a shotgun approach:

1. is notebook plugged in to wall and Power Settings to Performance mode?

2. Any 3d party ovrelay programs running? overwolf, afterburner, steam overlay, etc? shut them down.

3. Either increase, or completely remove your Pagefile. reboot, then test.

4. Disable your anti virus and firewall, might be HIPS detection trying to scan the compressed textures .zip files.

5. does single player local game work?

6. use Driverfusion by treexy , to uninstal your GPU drivers. reboot, install new drivers direct from nvidia.com

7. open Battlefield 2 Complete Collection\mods\pr\bin\prlauncher.txt and see if you have a lot of error messages.

Thanks for the help.

I think it came down to s really crappy internet connection. At home, things run fine, at work, it takes me a few times to load into a map and I get all the issues I stated above.

Go figure, work internet is shite.

Thanks for your help LITOralis.
