Bring back 20 mins respawn for heavy assets

Even though I am somewhat an asset whore, I think that 15 mins respawn for heavy assets, especially for CAS is too fast.

Why?

- CAS constantly focuses on taking down the enemy CAS instead of helping the ground forces because even if you take out the enemy CAS you won't have much time to go for ground targets before they are up again, especially when there are 2 CAS assets.

- The above goes for tanks too.

- But the biggest impact is on the infantry. You've just taken out a tank or an enemy helicopter that has been attacking your position constantly, you start building and FOB and by the time you are done another one comes.

This way, the crews are going to be more careful when it comes to the safety of their asset, as well as the infantry will be a bit more relieved.

I dunno, there is some merit to the idea, but what I really fear will get even worse is what those asset squads will do in their waiting time. What I see time and time again is CAS or Tank squads waiting for their assets just take out all the special kits (HAT, Combat Engi, Sniper, etc.) and go on some spec ops bullshit mission, locking out the infantry squads who really might need those kits from them. With added waiting time, this and just general fucking about in main could become even more of a problem.

That's the perspective of me as an admin, anyways.

Yeah even with the current short spawn times they still tend to waste special kits... It'll only get worse if the vehicle spawn timer increases.

But it'll also make Infantry important again if fewer assets are on the battlefield.

Infantry is already important Nightingale??

It's just that good asset users can really manipulate the battlefield.

I totally agree with increasing the spawn times for vehicles since it allows the battle to be influenced more by the loss of assets. If a team loses a vehicle it should be penalized in more ways than a ticket loss.

Spawn times can be set individually per map, right?

Put maps with multiple heavy assets (like 2 CAS) back at 20-30 minutes so one team will actually have enough time to take advantage of the enemy's CAS being down, while on other maps the timer could be left at 15 minutes so there will be more continuous vehicle support, so crews won't cause the above mentioned trouble while waiting for their asset to respawn. No need to draw one line for everything.

I agree! or players operate their assets with combined arms and very carefully or suffer the consequence of being without them for a long time.

remember, the PR must simulate a more realistic environment of battle, avoiding rapid replacement of vehicles and infantry, teaching their players the value that each has in battle and the consequences of losing any of them.

PR is first and foremost a game, not a simulator. Your statement is great in theory, but in reality it caused problems because good teams would lose because some bad players wasted the assets and left the team defenseless for large amounts of time.

Which is, I think, one the reasons the devs lowered the respawn time to 20 minutes.

I agree that for all mentioned above my post CAS spawn time should be increased. But I don't know about tanks as for most infantrymen it's more easier to kill a tank (provided that the crew isn't very experienced) than to kill CAS (in PR tanks have 0 protection against anything, but those flares and the possibility of diving/fast maneuvering for CAS is a lifesaver).

Also blayas mentioned a really important often overlooked factor - the subjective value of an asset to its user. IMHO the subjective value should be high (so to make teammates moan about how bad the ones who "wasted those assets" suck at this game, hehe!). And how to increase it? I know people are hardcoded, right, but longer respawn time would make them think twice before taking off and throwing themselves into the abyss.
