Where to get Battlefield 2 at? (Digitally)

I noticed that Battlefield 2 doesn't have an option to purchase on Steam for the Complete Edition. I can't find a link for that either on Origin. But I remember reading that Battlefield 2: Complete Edition became free? Where do I get a copy legally?

It was free for a short time on Origin until EA killed it. Now you're basically limited to buying physical copies of it from eBay or Amazon. As far as I know, there are no more ways to acquire it digitally barring illegally torrenting it.

Download for the complete edition is pretty cheap on Amazon: Battlefield 2 Complete Collection [PC Download]: Amazon.de: Games
Although it was 8 € cheaper when i bought it.
And maybe the version i linked is not available in the US :/

Oh, I didn't know you could digitally download it from Amazon.

ok thanks, I had found links for the free download at the time, but I must have been too late. My step-father legally owns the game disc, i'll see if I can get that and use it's code on Steam or something. Probably will just have to play it with the disc

You won't need the disc after the 1.5 patch though. But if I were you I'd just make an ISO of that DVD and keep it somewhere on your PC, plus the license code of course. You don't have to play it through Steam, just install, patch it and gooo ;) .

That's actually pretty strange because I bought my Battlefield 2 Complete Edition on Steam, did they remove it?

Once EA made it so that BF2 was unplayable, I believe it was pulled from steam

Ah, that would explain why I couldn't use the online multiplayer or log in to my account too I suppose.

That makes me wonder : when the legit BF2 keys will start to miss, won't their price get insanely high ?

Couldn't EA sell it back and add "Singleplayer only" ?

EA wasn't nice enough to pull it off steam or any store of that matter. I doubt they even contacted any store. They simply cut support and continue to let stores sell remaining stock. Steam was the cheapest so their stock is gone now. All that's left is some smaller stores, 2nd hand selling and amazon who still seem to have a massive stock.

EA was not making much money on it anymore anyway. They aren't getting money now anymore for the leftovers that are sold. EA is done.

Don't even need to find a BF2 complete DVD either, seeing as the expansions were in the last free patch.

It will soon become difficult to get BF2 at all, which is a shame.

That's what I recommend, I just put a order in two nights ago, about 10 Euro for brand new copy. Best not to go with used or digital copies, just to be sure.
