PR Launcher doesn't work/launch/start

Hello, so my PR launcher for some reason stopped working recently.
When I double click the launcher icon and give it user account control, nothing happens.
I've checked if the PR launcher doesn't start at all on the task manager, and the PR launcher shows up on the task manager for about 5 seconds and disappears after i double click on the icon.
When I try to launch from the PR folder, same thing happens.
When I trun PRBF2.exe from the BF2 folder, the game itself launches and takes me to the main screen, but as soon as I get to the main screen of PR, it tells me to exit and start the game from the launcher.
Could anyone please help me.

Hey guys,
Exactly the same over here. Doesn't make any difference if I diable the Antivirus or not.
Already tried clearing all those caches from the Launcher.

Both of you: please tell us your antivirus, firewall, and if you have made exceptions for PRLauncher.exe PRBF2.exe and PRMumble.exe in your antivirus and firewall.
It generally sounds like your antivirus is set to a "high" security level and since PRLauncher.exe and PRBF2.exe are not signed executables, they are being blocked by A/V.

Thanks for the reply.
I currently don't have any anti-virus installed on my computer, and I've tried to run PRLauncher.exe with the firewall disabled, but still no luck.
Also, before I deleted the anti-virus I was using, PR was working fine, until it simply stopped working one day. I'm not sure if it's due to firewall or anti-virus....

Use compatibility mode (winxp sp3) It's working in most cases

Hi Guys,
Thanks for your replies. I use Eset NOD32 AV and have recently updated to Version 8. That was my first thought as well when PR stopped to launch. But as is already mentioned, I even completely disabled it as well as Windows Firewall without any success.
If prbf2.exe was blocked by AV I should see this in it's log files. But no entries there.
No exceptions btw.
The only other change since PR was working was Windows Updates. Any reports of latest Windows 7 updates? I checked them at Microsoft Technet but found no particular statements on their changes.
compatibility mode doesn't help as well (as expected, since it worked before. But thanks anyway).

Hornster,
open this: D:\GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\prlauncher.txt
try to paste the bottom 30 or so line to this thread.
BTW same behavior on vanilla BF2.
Can you easily reinstall BF2? Don't do it yet, but it might be quicker and easier than troubleshooting. First post your prlauncher.txt to this thread.
-------------------
wic0101, did you get PR working?

Hi LITOralis,
I did try a reinstall of BF2 yesterday with the same outcome. No PR installed yet, but BF2 has the same behavior. I even reinstalled a second time to my C-drive after cleaning whole registry and getting rid of any leftovers in BF2-dir as well as in User Profile. So basically a problem with BF2 on my computer.
I don't think we can get this solved easily. I will do a system reinstall somewhen within the next days - not a big deal since I have all my software on D-drive and my files on my NAS
But thank you anyway for trying to help!

Hornster, I've seen people have probs if they move their USERS/.../documents/battlefield 2 and documents/projectreality to a nas using symlinks. Just another thing to check.

Hey LITOralis,
That's a good hint. Though not having a symlink to my NAS but just backuping the files weekly with robocopy I had recently merged some partitions on my pc since I ran out of space on one of them. Presumably that can have caused my issues.
Nevertheless I'll do a reinstall of my system and hopefully can enjoy pr again soon

Hey Guys,
found a solution without needing to reinstall!
The issue did occure since i had changed my data partition letter to another drive letter. But the link to "My Document" which is saved to the registry, was not changed -> So it was wrong then.
I had to change it manually to the actual location and now I can enjoy PR again
I have attached the registry path as a picture to this post, if anyone ever gets this problem.
Thanks all for help!

Told ya it happens when you move the /users/ directories
'Grats on fixing this, hope to see you on the PR servers soon.
