1.21 SMAW vs. MTLB

I don't know whether this has been posted yet, but it appears the (MEC)MTLB cannot be damaged by the SMAW's AT rounds. Happened to me on Jabal as well as Muttrah, but I can't confirm whether this happens with the Russian MTLB too.

Checking the code, you should kill it with one AT round. Even the HEDP round should do serious damage to it.

Edit: Tested in game and had no issues damaging the MTLB

The dual purpose kills the MTLB in one shot, whereas I don't even think I can recall the MTLB smoking afterwards when using the AT rounds(which is weird since the SMAW two-shots MBTs). Maybe I missed but in most instances I was within 50 meters of the target and others did see the round exploding on the MTLB itself otherwise I wouldn't report this. :-?

Please stick to the bug reporting template in the future.
And try to reproduce bugs if possible to make sure it's not a one time thing. Saves us alot of work in the end.

Which server was it, and what was your ping? I know a high ping will cause these issues

Maybe you hit it in a certain spot? Just like if you hit a Logi truck on the canvas, it doesn't damage it.. With anything..

Hmm, must have been a hit detection issue or something similar?

I just did a little testing:

Tested On:
Muttrah cq std, PAC training server


I hit all the mtlbs on the layer (hmg, 30mm and standard) with both AT and DP rounds, all hitting the front of the mtlbs from approx 50m) In all cases a 1 hit kill. Sometimes they would burn, but for <5 seconds before blowing up.

If I hit the mtlbs on the tracks, they would occasionally just be tracked, with either round from the smaw. But a frontal shot was a show-stopper for both rounds on all three MEC mtlbs.

Unable to reproduce on stationary target at least.

@Arab 50ms and no lag spikes.
@mikey I'm not sure. I believe in 2 cases I shot from above from a T-Shape, 1 hit was done near the rear, 1 instance to the front.
@Murkey thanks for trying it out. Maybe it really was just the hit detection messing with me, others who were with me, confirmed me hitting the target, but instead of blowing up or smoking, the mtlb came out unscathed.

When vehicles are moving at top speed, those shots where you just manage to hit the target with AT, sometimes hit detection fails to register it. Its not super rare for it to happen.

This time I got it on tape. Rear Armour hit fails to kill despite the paper armour the MTLB has(and it's not the DP round as I've already used it). I'm fairly certain a rear armour hit with the SMAW would knock out a BMP3, so this is most definately a bug.

The damage of HAT missiles vs light vehicles got increased. SMAW should now be able to kill it instantly as well.

With 220 velocity*0.05 delay shouldn't it travel 11 bf meters before explode?

The vehicle did get damaged here. If you really pay attention it is smoking afterwards. The problem was damage modifier against the rear material of the MTLB. A hit in the back with SMAW AP only deals 918.5 damage (836 for HEDP) and the MTLB has totatl of 1100hp. Hitting the front actually deals more damage at the moment and will kill it.

Could the vehicle get damaged only by collision of fast projectile? Like people dying to direct UGL nades that didn't explode.

Usually the explosive component in PR does really low damage and its this that can be armed or not, so you can always assume its impact damage
