FPS drop and long startup

Hi guys.
Few days ago I installed the game and I must say I really like it, but I had few problems to begin with.
First of all, when I start the game via PRlauncher the startup takes like a minute or more, which isn't big problem but I was wondering if there is a fix for it.
Biggest problem is FPS drops, not in all maps , but most of them when I get in closer combat area game gets laggy and bit frustrating to play and also when someone pops a smoke or something similiar.
I was wondering if there's any fix, as I'm playing this game on lowest graphic settings, 1440x900 60Hz...(For example I can play BF3 on medium-high with pretty decent FPS)
My specs :
Operating System
Windows 7 64-bit

CPU: AMD Phenom X4 9650

RAM: 6,00GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 399MHz

Motherboard: BIOSTAR Group A770 A2G+ (CPU 1)

Graphics: BenQ G2000W (1680x1050@60Hz)
1024MB ATI AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series

Thanks in advance ! :) .

Hello,

On PR launcher, please click on SUPPORT and copy/past the result.
It will help to spot if there is an easy problem to solve.

Also, are you palying online ?
If yes, does the probleme appear offline, with or without bot.

On wich map do you have problem? (some map are FPS killer even for good hardware).

For the launch time, you are speaking about the game lauching and connecting after the click to "Play" rigth ?
If yes, it can take a minute, because you need to check for files (version of game, update, corrupted file), then it connect your online profile, and launch bf2 file.

Yes, I'm playing online on 100 player servers and I also tried Co Op mode few times and I also felt this preformance degradation.
I haven't tried offline yet so I can't give you info about that right now...
Mmm In Muttrah City was biggest FPS drop for sure, Asad Khal less but still some, and Al Basrah I think..I haven't played too many maps so far, but mostly when there's a lot of action in center of maps(buildings, explosive action etc.) fps drops.

Yes for launch time, after I press Play it gives me a black screen and then I wait for minute or so and I start...

The black screen at startup is somewhat normal. You can try to speed this up by:
1. PRLauncher->Support->Utilities Tab->
Clear Server Favorites->Click blue 'Perform Task' Button
Clear Server History->Click blue 'Perform Task' Button

2. PRLauncher->Options->Global Tab
UNTICK the View Intro Movies tickbox.
Click APPLY button

3. Defrag your D: drive.
mydefrag.com and the script found here works well:
http://www.mydefrag.com/forum/index.php?topic=4918.0

-----------------------------------

How to fix your FPS:
1. Put your settings back to Medium. There are some bugs in our Low settings.
2. download and install Bitsum ProcessLasso x64 Free Edition.

Download Bitsum ProcessLasso Free. Make sure you download the correct version, Free 32 bit or Free 64 bit, Process Lasso - Automate and optimize process priorities, CPU affinities, power profiles, and more!
-- Start PR, alt tab to desktop, open ProcessLasso window, right click on PRLauncher.exe, PRBF2.exe and and give them default priority status of High, set the PRBF2.exe to gaming mode, and give both of them high or higher access to RAM.

You can also unpark your cores in Bitsum Processlasso.
This will help significantly.

Unpark your CPU Cores in ProcessLasso->Options->Configure CPU Core Parking->UNpark your cores.
https://bitsum.com/about_turbocore_turboboost.php

Here is an explanation of unparking: https://bitsum.com/parkcontrol/

3. Overclock your GPU:
Before I say how, please tell me the make and model of GPU you own.
Is it a HD 7750 , HD 7770, or HD 7790 ? gDDR3 or gDDR5 memory?

Okay great, thanks for the quick answer.
I'll try to work on these solutions you gave me as soon I can, but I cant try them at this moment.
My GPU configs :
Manufacturer ATI
Model AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series
Device ID 1002-683D
Subvendor XFX Pine Group (1682)
Current Performance Level Level 0
Voltage 0,825 V
GPU Clock 1000,0 MHz
Memory Type GDDR5
Memory 1024 MB
Bandwidth 72,0 GB/s

XFX Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition] [1002:683d]
That is a pretty good GPU.
You can use Asus GPU Tweak to overclock your GPU.

ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download ASUS GPU Tweak for Graphics cards

1120 on the core and 1500 on the memory.
The max voltage is 1.25V , do NOT go above it.

Please google on guides to overclock the HD7770.

You should see +5 to +15 increase to your minimum FPS in PR.

Alright, thank you very much for your help, I've done couple of steps so far but I'll be trying overclocking and unparking soon.

Cheers!
