This is a thread dedicated to the MEC (belive it or not) the G3A3 is a brilliant weapon but the model makes it look rubish if it looked like this then everyone would like it:

Why give the special ops a 45 round mag? The MP5 and variants of it are 30 round mags aren't they?

the psg-1 is not used by military forces - only police and there also very rarely.
for one, its too heavy for military use and also, the thing is just darn expensive

yes i think that the model is rather poor but hey is a vBF2 model...
The G3 is a fully auto version of the SLR this is the weapon us brits used to have before the sa80 and the game does not give it justice from what my dad has described to me. The power and the accuracy of the G3 sucks in my opinion on single shot the G3 or SLR should be able to have a accurate kill to 300m and should be quite a bit more powerfull than the M16 or the SA80. Same goes for the AK47 as that has the same kick and power. So a bit of tweeking and people will grow to love the G3 even without a scope.

Back on topic if anyone has some spare time to make some new tweeks models and skins please do.

At UKARMYCADET the G3 and FN FAL are 2 diffrent rifles mate the FAL is auto but for british service was made Semi so our cheap government didnt have to pay for more Ammo. The G3 and Fal are basically the same gun.

yeah the G3 is much much more powerful than an M16 or SA80.

All of our old SLR's are in africa now getting rid of aids lol and the G3 is a new weapon but very similar in all ways but Rate Of Fire.

I am just wondering asking a super noob question but are the Counter Strike Souce models etc compatable with BF2 in any way? Because i have a very nice G3 model and textures i got off the net as i had a task of making all the weapons of CSS look real so if there is any software i could use to make it work on BF2 that would be great if not i am afraid i dont have 3Ds max to make a new G3.

PGS1 is a law enforcement rifle rather than a militery one.

give the Spec ops P90's on urban maps, their punch against armor would make them very good CQC troopers

If one were to get 3Ds or X3D or whatever, and with no prior experience, try to model a weapon.........how long would it take ?

Im not too fond of P90s tbh and P90s are made by FN so wouldn go with all the Helker and Koch

P90 is also law enforcement so...... I like the old vanilla AK74u it makes the game so much more balanced with the scope it is less accurate than the M4 but more powerfull. what more could you ask for?

The actual G3 marksman variant that the MEC should be using (and Egg has said, they will have) is the G3SG/1, which is basically a G3 with a scope. This is the autosniper from CS. It does have full auto, so hopefully the DEVs don't nerf out this important feature (as they did with the SPR ).



The main variant of the G3 used should be the G3A4, the latest version with sliding buttstock.



The G3-TGS is the version of the G3 with an underslung grenade launcher:



The only problem with the G3 is that it's a highly accurate weapon. The G3SG/1 is practically a sniper rifle, despite the fact it's only a regular G3 with a scope. The rifleman class could have a definite advantage if they're given the G3SG/1, and the marksman may have to use something else. Do we really want the MEC to take the "marksmanship" crown from the Brits?

That is correct. The Royal Saudi forces issue them to tank crews, but also to their praetaorian type special operations units. Peruvian special operations units also used them during the Japanese Ambassador's Residence hostage incident.

The term "sub-machinegun" seems to be going out of fashion for the term PDW.

If you could affornd it in the first place or find a *cough* totally legal cheap copy it would. Also if you have all the ideas before hand it would take about 5 hours flat. Thats knowing how 3Ds max works it would take longer to learn all the features. There are various websites dedicated to Modding BF2 that i have just gone on and favourated hence the noob question abouve i made because i have not become a active member on them but they have videos the help etc just use google.. But unfortunately they are on my old broken pc so i cannot give you a link. There is also a section of this PR forum dedicated to modding

The Saudis are the only country i no of who have adopted the P90 oh and some Tai Spec forces.

still the psg-1 is not a military rifle, the military version would be the msg-90 (or G3SG)(btw, a psg-1 costs according tu world.guns.ru easily about 10.000€...)

no - they are not - they dont even use the same action ^^

as already pointed out, the g3 is not the succesor/predecessor of the fal - actually, germany wanted to adopt the fal as their main assault rifle back then, but belgium refused to give them the license to produce it themselves, so they turned to a spanish company called cetme and gained a license from them (the rifle was called cetme mod a/b/c and stuff, and is basically a g3)

and the G3 is a new weapon but very similar in all ways but Rate Of Fire.

as said above, they are actually not that similiar, they use the same bullet but have a different action, different muzzle velcocity and as you already said, a slightly different rof

3ds max, it would take long, the programm is quite "extensive" (alltough if you are not too lazy you could get it done ^^ - but still, even if you are experienced it would easily take several hours)

If you could affornd it in the first place or find a *cough* totally legal cheap copy it would
