Good Evening all,
Iv been playing PR since the early days and am a huge fan of everything the dev team put out there. Squad is looking good, ARMA pr mod was alot of hard work and the continued support for BF mod is something I have never seen before.
That said, im searching BF2 on twitch and no one stream. I have recently started streaming and would like to know if there is a genuine interested in watching PR matches?

It would be nice to speak to some of the devs and maybe get a showcase map/match and do it properly. What would everyone think of this. I like watching twitch, and i love watching PR. But its boring if its not done properly! So let me know what you guys think.
Have a nice evening.

Streaming pr often doesn't work out because it can lead to ghosting by people on the other team, every time you open your map it shows where all the fobs/caches/tanks/cas are. I believe streaming on prta servers is banned unless you have quite a long delay, perhaps 30 minutes to an hour. Announcing you are streaming in all chat is also a big no go.

Thats a real shame that people arent on board with this.
Any game you play on twitch people can watch, therefore its ghosting! But do you really think that mature gamers that were legitimate players like MERK and PRTA etc would ghost in a match? I think not.
Not 1 person steams BF2. No one at all. Its a shame you think it would spoil it rather than help PR grow as a community. IS this to say that Squad wont allow anyone to stream aswell?
You mention that advertising the channel in server is also against the rules. Please note, im not here for advertisement, otherwise i wouldve mentioned my channel link already.

PR matches last quite a lot longer than other games, people also invest more into a game of pr than others. It's not that i'm not on board, i like watching streams too (mostly csgo) but PR just tends to not work very well. There's only a few servers up at a time so its very easy for anyone who wishes to cheat to take advantage of it.
Plus a few years ago there was quite a big incident of people stream sniping. Lots of e-drama, not really worth repeating.

I'm talking about all chat in game, advertising here on the forums is perfectly fine, encouraged even!

I can completely understand where youre coming from.
Looking at the quality of Squad at present, and the lack of games like it in the market at present. I can see alot of people wanting to stream it.
When squad gets exposure I think we could see alot of people getting into PR.
Im trying to come up with another solution to stream and hide the map but i dont think there is a way!
I really do not want to be part of peoples exploits so id rather not do it.
Let me know if you can see anyway round it. Would there be a way to get a third party program to show the map instead, then i could just use that instead. Actually that wouldnt be a bad shout, as you could always have the map open on your second screen.

People mostly watch Twitch for entertainment: good player + good gameplay + good personality + interaction with viewers = good Twitch channel.
PR is incredibly boring to stream and nobody watches BF2 therefore you're not gonna get any exposure by streaming it.
I only know
cribaa's Twitch channel, he streams every now and then.
Edit: about the map showing issue, I'm sure you can make a custom overlay to hide that portion of the screen and automatically switch to it when you press 'M' key.

I think youre incorrect. ARMA 3 has a massive following as is the same play style. IF you ever watch Lirik, he gets over 100k viewers and practically makes a game.
I understand that if you camp a building for 20 minutes then yes it would be boring, but if you press, and engage. Then it would be a really interesting thing to watch. I actually stream CSGO and ARMA at the moment but wanted to do PR as im a huge fan of it.
The overlay would have to be massive to block out the whole map, maybe il wait and see what the devs think.

Various PR guys stream from time to time, but it's easiest to
1. Put it into your stream you are playing Battlefield 2
2. The rest of us Follow the Game , Battlefield 2

Im just very conscious of offending people. This is not my intention. I dont want to stream if people do not want to be watched. Its a very valid point that hes making about giving away the map. Im just too trusting when it comes to PR as mostly its mature gamers playing properly. Its one of the reasons i play it after all.
But i genuinely think it would be good, depending on the way you play and the squad you have of course.

Streaming can work with like, 10 or 15 minutes delay if possible.

You cant really do the delay as all the audio is live.

You can do the delay, it just costs money, you need a 2nd PC to hold the video/audio stream in buffer.

Wonder if a decent capture card would do it. Does it delay audio aswell do you know?

ArmA has barely any following on Twitch and those that do stream play some survival stuff/ BRs. Lirik is incredibly popular and people would watch him play any game, nothing to do with ArmA. It's still kinda boring to watch just for gameplay and PR would be so much worse, no matter your playstyle.
So far, nobody that has streamed PR has been even close to gaining some exposure.

I hate to say it mate but that statement is wrong aswell. PsiSyndicate etc get loads of views. Frankie on youtube started with Arma and Dayz and gets over 3 million views per video. He gets more on his Arma based survival stuff.
Dayz do survivor games which was the most watched stream on Twitch at the time.
There is a following.

That's exactly what I'm saying. It's not the game, it's the big channels. People would watch those guys play any game. ArmA has 800 something viewers atm, does that seem like much to you? And when the big guys play it they don't play some slow strategic gamestyle with an organized group, they play BRs and other survival stuff. Survivor games is just yearly event.
There's 0 comparison to PR.
You can carry over your viewers that watch you play a popular game into PR, but you're not gonna get viewers streaming PR. Nothing stopping you from trying and proving me wrong.

It seems to me that the entire point of a stream is to interact with your viewers. Once you are delaying more than a minute or so, the point is lost. Maybe you would do better to record your gameplay and build a YouTube channel.
