BF CD KEY

OK PR was working fine a while ago and then it came up asking me for a CD key when i ran the launcher. I couldn't find my key and my bro said that a CD key was not needed with BF2 anymore and gave me his key. I am unable to join any game that he's connected to now...and I found my key in the meantime...but how do I actually clear out the registry or whatever is needed to use my legit key? I tried the CD key changer methods and shit but every server I join with my bro doesn't let me join it. I fully uninstalled and reinstalled BF and PR and I still can't get this shit to work.

Using the BF2 CD Key Changer worked for me, Win7x64
I use my legit BF2 on Steam, changed the cd-key for someone else so they could play with me.
With some simple searching I found the following:
PR Forums:
"If you use Battlefield2-code in your Bf2/Supprot directory, you can change you're CD-KEY without reinstalling. However, you need to re-apply vBf2 1.5 patch to get it working if memory serves me correctly. Alternatively, you could go into your registry, find the thing for your key and put "x9392" in front of it. Worked for me."
