XM8 and Weapon Expansions

I know the project has been stopped for this weapon to be incorperated into the US armed forces but I was wondering if there is any way we can incorperate it into the mod. As the Allied Intent team has stopped working on their mod, you may be able to contact them and request their model (very well done) and any sorts of scripts needed to put it into BF2
http://world.guns.ru/assault/as61-e.htm

Also as the M4 is being used to replace the M16A2 would it be possible to give it to other kits at times as or give it to the Rifleman or something other than just the spec ops kit. Also wonder if we can get a M16 kit with an optics package similar to the M4 currently in game as the M16A4 has the rail setup for such modifications to make the weapon more effective in the field.

It is beautiful but it's just a G36 with new skin.

Project Reality, man. If it got cancelled, it's not going to be in the mod.

Well the other little thing I'd like to see is the M16A4 with some sort of Optics package, is that possible? Something to improve the shots out of the M16 on one kit is all I ask cause the damned irons DICE put in are horrible7

the marines use the M16A4 i think.
the devs have said about a army / marine split further down the line, so we could see the M4 and its varients along with the carpet colored ACU

and the DEVS hav said the grendiers and riflemen are getting optics.

BUT from what i under stand is that you cant edit DICE models so we might have to see a total M16 remodel down the line

Yeah! That's the first thing I thought when I first saw the XM-8!

And nickvel, we're already past the "Space Age".

I think the xm8 is a horrible looking weapon. Looks cheap... and like it would break if you dropped it.

it was supposed to be an amazing gun, but i guess it wasnt amazing enough for the U.S. to implement into use. its probably got to have too much money invested in all the 16's already

The "Space Age" was the 1970s and 80s. It ended after the Soviet Union's collapse. This era is called the "I don't know" era, because there is nothing that defines these recent decades.

80s and 90s were the electronics/silicon age.
too early to say really what the 00s are if they ever distinguish themselves...

imo the M8 is a weird looking gun, neither lethal looking nor particularly sturdy
then again I love the simple elegance of the steyr aug...beauty in the eye and all that

the gun looks like a action man made it after he stole the plans for the g36 and read them wrong.

i think the xm8 was dropped because the army wanted to adopt the 5.8mm round rather than knocking out another gun that uses the 5.56 round

ohh doesnt the styr use sabot's rounds

Steyr make lots of weapons. The Steyr ACR is the shotgun similar in design to the AUG
