Ye, I only have a 1920x1080 monitor, but I can play in 3840x2160 with DSR Factors enabled in the Nvidia Control Panel, dunno what you would need to do for ATI Cards:

Just the screenshot is saved in the rez I'm playing at, rather than the rez I'm seeing :)

BTW plz don't quote huge pics, especially if its just the post above you, if its from another page then ye there is some justification but not in this case... Removed the img tags from your quote.

I should ask, is there a visual difference between 1080p and 1440p? I'm wondering if it will look worse on 1440p or not?

Is there any advantage or disadvantage in scaling up to 4k ? Also, the console becomes supersmall and unreadable. Is there any way of making that bigger ? The fps shown by render.drawfps 1 is supersmall aswell.

I tested my native resolution 1080p VS 2k, 3k, and 4k...

I can tell that it looks much better in 4k... but it was a bit laggy for me... so I am playing in 3k now... :-D

yes, the console is supersmall, I don't think we can do anything about... but no problem for me

and to see the FPS, just use another program like FRAPS or watever, it will still be small, but better....

since I own a huge monitor, I can't complain

What kind of CPU/GPU/settings are you all using @ 4k and what frame rates do you see? I play @ 1920x1200 with a 5820k @ 4.2 / GTX970 with everything on high with 2x AA and still see mid 20FPS in various maps. Most of the time I stay at a vsync'd 60FPS though.

I still have AF in 16x and AA in 32xCSAA.... and never seen PR look so beautiful
here are the GPU settings, they are overrind PR's default settings:

You should be able to do better than me, since you have much better GPU/CPU

Hi everyone, the past 3 hour or 4 hours i have been trying several stuff to get 4k resolution accepted in the PR 1.3 launcher, but i cant seem to get it to work,

I see that none of u actually have an 4k monitor, but instead are using your 1080p monitors to somehow Emulate it to 4k, while still only seeing 1080p yourself,

I searched on the Forums for hours, and i still think this is the most Relevant thread to discuss my problem, as [R-DEV]Rhino has an picture of the display mode options with 3840x2160 in it.

My display mode options only strangely enough go up to 2560x1440 by default.
Image

However my windows native settings are at 3840x2160@30hz, i tried to manually add this resolution and Hertz in the video.con file, but after 2 hours later i think i read somewhere that That method doesnt work anymore since version 1.3,
Image
(Sidenote, the smaller 2nd screen next to it, is actually also an 40" inch tv, but limited to 1080p, 4x as small, kinda strange when moving mouse from one screen to the other, while both TV/Monitor are both 40" inch )

EDIT !!!!!

I solved my Problem, it turns out that my 4k monitor on default Factory settings is set to display port 1.1, wich only supports 3840x2160@30hz !!
But if u have an videocard that accepts displayport 1.2 it will accept 3840x2160@60hz

well i have a Titan X, wich has 3x an displayport 1.2, and an hdmi port,

Because for the past 6 years ive been used so much to just use my HDMI cable with my other 40 inch 3d tv, that when this 40 inch 4k Monitor arived, i automaticly connected it with HDMI, ( Even though Display Port Cables were delivered with the Monitor, ( wich i just found out i needed those , OVER HDMI.

So to other people that sortof encounter my problem,
First check in your own Monitor Settings if the display port is on 1.1 or 1.2
and offcourse use the Correct cables. wich i didnt do enough research into apparantly. I sortof thought that HDMI also supported 4k resolutions, well aparantly it Does, but only in 30HZ.

I was going to say. 30 hz for gaming isn't ideal and was going to ask what monitor you had. I'm glad you figured it out. Enjoy.

HDMI 1.4 does upto 30fps, HDMI 2.0 does 60, why I got an asus 970 not MSI.

if you have a maxwell based card you can also use nvidia DSR so you can render the game at 4k on you lower res monitor, I suggest setting the smoothing to 0%-10% looks great no need for AA

So now that currently my NATIVE resolution is 3840x2160, does that mean i could increase it x4, with DSR ? to get 16k

Currently running in 4k mode i get about 110 to 120 fps.

Lol, 16k? 4k @ 110 fps? Either your settings are turned all the way down, or you are running a few titans.

Devs, when are you going to support 256k for my 16 monitors that are 4k each and are rendering 16k each? Also, will you offer bezel compensation support for 64 monitors if I choose to go that route? Just wondering if I should ask for more monitors for Christmas or not. Thanks!

On a 100p multiplayer server? You must have overclocked your CPU to 6 jiggawatts!
