Problem with game start up

When I click Bf2, the screen goes black and it says "suggested monitor resolution "1920x1080" and then it goes black and stays black. I have to close BF2 by pressing ctrl + alt + delete
And when I try PR it has the same problem, can anyone help?
*EDIT* seemed to solve it by restarting the PC and running as administrator
*edit2* ok it was just loading the game very slowly, I had to wait about 30 seconds but it worked.
