I met up with Helen Bowyer recently, as I'm working with IBM on a similar project and she is part of the team. I met helen shortly after they ran this program - i think there is a post on the Dev forums I wanted to share but cant find it

That was a really good read indeed. It's interesting to have their actions and reactions analysed like that.
I didn't finish it but I'll certainly read the rest tomorrow.

Only just came across that enjoyed reading.
In fact, one enemy soldier accidentally died early in the mission
Made me laugh

I have a question for this community,
Other than the interesting fact of playing in historical warfare and having a gameplay working on a realistic approach
Does any of you consider this game to be a Worthy virtual simulation to improve oneself in a real life threatening war
Because,
I always considered PR a great game, the greatest MMOFPS existing to this day.
Yet,
to my eyes it is only a 'Video Game' . Designed for entertainment.
Not a serious military training tool.

Time and time again it has been proven that this game is an FPS where other tactics rule over real life ones. OD-S versus some mil-sim clan some years back comes to mind, where OD-S capped out the opposition within 15 minutes as USMC on Muttrah. Basically just a prime example of how mil-sim clans can definitely have fun with PR (not that round though), but they're not good at it.
If you want to polish your comms and formations you might as well play Arma, right?

You don't get far in PR with milsim attitude: or yeah, you do get rekt for sure. PR =/= real life (surprise) and most real life tactics just don't work. They are not beneficial in PR.
Of course: if both teams are milsim, then the game might be interesting. But if it is fraggers vs. milsim, guess which one wins.

By any means, i would never want any military research to exploit any kind of information retreived from me while playing PR.

I've learned a lot from PR to be honest. I've always been a sucker for guns and warfare (although not a huge fan of the army as an institution), but I mostly believed war was still a man on man thing. I enjoyed playing ArmA and Delta Force ever since I was a kid so I had a vague concept of ''actual war is not fun at all because you will die really really soon'' but PR has definitely enriched it.
But yeah, in real life nobody would be as aggressive as in a video game, because boredom and respawning pretty much changes the approach.
