Keybinding Left Shift to Crouch

Just spent hours downloading and installing, only to find I am unable to bind Left Shift to Crouch. Manually unbound Left Shift from Boost under Land Vehicle, and Afterburner from the Aircrafts tab, but trying to bind Sprint under Common pops up an error saying there is an action bound to Left Shift under the Helicopters tab... but there's not...

I just wanted to enter the same bug, I am also not able to bind Left-Shift to crouch. It always says it is conflicting with other settings, although I have removed the Left-Shift binding from all other settings.
Until this gets fixed you can set the binding manually in the Controls.con file at path
"%userprofile%\Documents\ProjectReality\Profiles\0001".
Just add the following line after the line "ControlMap.create defaultPlayerInputControlMap":
ControlMap.addKeyToTriggerMapping c_PICrouch IDFKeyboard IDKey_LeftShift 0 0
You can also try to search for IDKey_LeftShift and remove every such line. I noticed that I haven't tried this, but the first approach worked for me at least.

Where would you bind sprint to then?

I usually bind sprint to LeftCtrl and crouch to LeftShift, that's what I'm used to.

I changed that the moment I installed BF2 years ago

. I use ESDF for movement, shift for crouching, caps for sprinting and control for prone.
But yes, I had to do it as General_Elbi said back then. Haven't touched it since, hehe.

That is not the purpose of bug reporting, unless I'm mistaken.
Thank you everyone who pointed out the controls file.

I was genuinely curious as to where you planned to assign the controls. That's why I asked.
