Install question re OLD MAPS

I was wondering...is there any point hanging on to any levels (maps)and localizations and putting them in the new installation...as long as I dont over write any of the new data? Or will maps designed for the old PR not work with the new 1.3 anyway?

For what it's worth, I put the maps/localization data from the PRTA 2014 Map Pack and the XMas Winter Maps into my 1.3, so far haven't encountered a single problem.
An official response would be invaluable though.

I've uninstalled all but kept maps and localizations and will just put them in appropriate directory's without over writing any files of the same name.

Will work fine. The only thing that might break is one Chinese APC that we changed the name off. So that might crash when you load into a map featuring it.
Make sure with localization to never overwrite existing PR localization. Some mods do that and it's terrible practice..
