So i just got Windows 10 and everytime i ran Project Reality it Loads the game to the Start Menu then Crashes after like 13 Seconds. I changed the Compability to windows 7/8/service xp 2 and 1. Still Crashes. Anyone know how to fix this or when they will change the Compability to Windows 10?

Windows 10 is not officially out, so sorry, you are the first person with this issue. Also, till windows 10 official release, I doubt there will be support for it.

There was an old thread about this, if i remember you are out of luck, using the beta OS is unsupported.

We have had multiple reports of win10 working fine with PR so far. However its too early to really tell what the issue for you personally is as there aren't enough people with win10.

Come August, we'll know for sure. They release Win 10 July 29.

works fine for me in build 10130, but alt tab will freeze pc.

Make sure you are running as administrator.

Same with me but with Win8, tested with PRBF2.exe and keep ok and didnt crash, but when i start with launcher crash after like 15 secs, i tried every possible thread here, dont know what to do anymore.

I'm still getting a launcher crash after reinstalling all the requirements

Maybe caused by the .Net Framework?

I, too, am having a similar problem. The PR Launcher works but the game itself crashes almost immediately upon launch without any error code visible (and nothing of note in the error logs). All compatibility modes likewise fail. Various Radeon drivers have been tried (official Windows 10 driver from Windows Update and newer version from AMD) without success.


I've run Insider builds since February and never once experienced this problem. However, due to my idiocy of installing Windows 10 Enterprise Insider, I needed to revert back to Windows 7 Professional OEM before I could do the Windows 10 upgrade and successfully activate. I'll continue to investigate the DirectX 9 fix.


EDIT: Downloading and installing DirectX 9.0c directly fixed the launcher problem! Thanks for the tip jedigman!

I am facing a issue with Project Reality v1.3 Standalone on the new Windows 10 OS. I have just recently upgraded (downgraded?) from Windows 8.1 and it worked perfectly on that system, now that i have Windows 10 the program wont start, i have tried changing the compatability settings to Windows 8, 7, and Vista, but none of these options allow the game to start up. I absolutely love this game and have played it for a long time...
If possible could anyone give me tips or fixes as i have googled it and had no resolve...
I installed DirectX and NET... I try to run PR from C:\Program Files (x86)\Project Reality\Project Reality BF2\mods\pr\bin\PRlauncher.exe and nothing? ((((((( Please can someone help??

For me also not working on fresh windows 10.

At first when I upgraded from 8.1 to 10. IT was still working. I think because i was intalled direct x9 already.

But after I did fresh win 10 install it is not working. When I click play in game after couple sec it crashes with:
"PR:BF2 has stopped working. Cleaning up resources"

I can't install DirectX 9.0c anymore because i get error:
"An interal system error ocured.
Please refer to DXError.log and DirectX.log in your Windows folto to deermine problem."
I dont's find such log files.

I also tried various compatibily and changing settings. Did not help.
I think this is critical problem, which need attention ASAP, because there will be more and mobe players on WIN 10.

Drago, do what I did

I installed win 8.1 on usb 64gb flash drive. Also installed video driver, PR, direct 9x (because error was showing up). And for my surprise on all high settings I was geting ~40 fps

I found the solution... ) so guys after 48 hours of working on that problems i found the solution )
It is simple.. i wona kill myself right now becouse of simplicity... So i have new Windows 10, installed all drivers and everything, and installed directx and NET and visualC++... BUT THE PROBLEM IS IN DIRECTX... I GUESS THAT DIRECT X IS NOT FULLY REQ BY WINDOWS 10, AND NEEDS ADITIONAL SETTINGS...
So if you have that same problem on Windows 10, go to SETTINGS, and than SYSTEM----APPS & FEATURES--> MANAGE OPTIONAL FEATURES---> add a feature.... SO WHEN YOU ARE IN ADD A FEATURE, SCROLL DOWN TO LETTER G... YOU ARE GONE SEE THERE SOME OPTIONS LIKE GERMAN SPEECH TO TEXT, ETC... YOU NEED------->>>> GRAPHICS TOOLS (This adds DirectX graphic tools support)... Click INSTALL!
And you are ready to go....
