Hey there, got 1.3 today, I only play coop so I went straight to that. However, every single time I click launch, the game instantly crashes with the usual cleaning up resources window coming up. I have no idea what's wrong or could be causing this, I played 1.2 absolutely fine, but 1.3 refuses to load any maps and does this instea. :/

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I fixed it in a rather bizarre way - I coped any loose DLL files from the Battlefield 2 install folder into the PR folder (not replacing those already there) it now works absolutely fine, even passes the file validation check.

It might of been the 32bit specific DLL files that did this, as despite having Windows 8 64 bit, 64 bit specific applications never seem to work well for me.

Glad you got it working. Which map is it so I can add it to our bug tracker including the fix?

It was all the maps, actually. None of them worked. It was only when I copied the DLL files over it worked. Perhaps some more DLL files from BF2 are needed for the PR installer?

You were missing directx9 ddls. Properly installing directx9 also solves it.

I have tried reinstalling DX9 for numerous games in the past, unfortunately it rarely works. I did try manually installing the provided distributable too, but had no dice there.

Fortunately adding the missing DLL files from my BF 2 install worked fine, although I admit it's a bizarre solution. It was also odd it didn't initially work, as I have played quite a lot of 1.2 with no such issues.

yes that has fixed it thanks now my 4 year old can crash hueys and no one cares
