The reduce to fixed zoom on thw TOW HMMWV is imo unnecessary. They have really good optics IRL and it was not OP before, why the change?

Cause that is how TOW works? They only have a fixed zoom level. It is the same on deployable TOWs.

wat. You can change zoom level in TOW irl iirc
e:

thermal sight has two zoom settings: 4x (wide sight) and 12x (narrow sight)
day sight has fixed 13x zoom

I suggest you change it work like that

It isnt that easy to make it like that, but can be done. Just need someone that is up for it :)

IIRC they all have around 12x magnification.

Also, the reload time is super slow now. It takes around 40 seconds. Where as static tow is 10-15?

Why the massive difference? And any refrences to real life reload times or was it purely for some kind of balancing reasons even though the TOW HMMWV is not really over-powered.

possibly takes a few more maneuvers to reload vehicle-mounted TOW. You have to open the hatch, jump out from the gunner seat, remove the old missile tube, open trunk to get new missile out, lift the new 25 kilogram missile in and close the hatch and jump back in gunner seat. If the TOW is on the ground, you have the new shot ready next to your feet and it that takes literally no time to reload even alone.

HMMWV TOW might be possible to reload under 20 seconds with experienced crew in real life.

That's about the time it takes according to someone who operated one of these IRL. Reloading it is very awkward when mounted on an HMMWV.

Best video I can find, kinda shows the process should take around 40 seconds. (despite the jumpcuts) TOW Humvees are not really meant to take on entire tank formations firsthand, they are scout vehicles, and are meant for defensive purposes, such as defending light infantry from enemy armor, and meant to take out targets of interest as necessary. The long reload time is fine.

My first duty station was a former TOW Humvee unit, (referred to as TOW Scout Platoons in the USMC, they are attached to Tank Battalions). I'm with AAVs now.

Make sure the Humvee antenna is not in the immediate backblast area of the Saber when you launch the TOW, or you'll lose comms for the entire battle...
