MEC Light-AT kit

Hello.
Can you give MEC Light-AT kit 2x RPG-26? Even the militia RPG-26 kit is better since it gets 2x AT-grenades, so you can actually destroy an APC with it. With MEC LAT kit, you can only scratch blufor APC or make it even more angry.
Russian alt-LAT gets 2x RPG-7
(7kg+2kg+2kg for instance = 11 kg) so why not give MEC LAT 2x RPG-26?
(2,9kg+2,9kg = 5,8 kg). USMC alt LAT kit gets 2x M72LAW
(3,5kg+3,5kg = 7kg).
One RPG-26 is just a death wish for your squad.

This is timely. Were you reading about this topic on the favorite faction thread?
Anyway, I agree. MEC inf is fodder for blufor armor, especially on maps like Muttrah.

Yaaay! I've found that with MEC APCs being LAT traps, MEC INF could use something to fight back.

Because the RPG-26 deals more damage than the RPG-7 with one hit. (When im right)
And the Militia dont have a Guided HAT-Kit, so it takes a rather experienced player to hit with the RPG-7.
Beside that the Militia dont have "that good" vehicles than the MEC, which have very good APCs and Tanks compared to the Milita.
So they have the RKG to compare that. ... I think
Current system is fine for me.

The RPG-26 rarely deals a 1 hit kill to it's target, I always take the RPG-7 over it. The majority of MEC's APCs\IFVs are still easily defeated by single LAT kit, and they need something to fight back in the inevitable case that their, say Scorpion gets rolled on by a LAT and need something to cover them that's not totally useless.

I would take RPG-7 with HEAT warhead as HAT anytime. Two shots is potential two heavy asset kills.
Also, RPG-7 LAT (2 shots[+two AT-nades for militia]) is also potential two kills. MEC light-AT is 0-1 kills at most. Usually 0. This is why it needs two shots. Most conventional armies give their light at-inf guys two shots (M72LAW for instance)
Every MEC APC (mtlb, btr60, scorpion, bmp2/3) can be destroyed with single AT-4 from any direction - if not destroyed, they will be tracked, since AT-4 hit takes like 80% of the vehicle HP, where RPG-26 takes ~50%. Even shooting at the back hatch of LAV25 isn't guaranteed kill. It just smokes grey.

Well me too.
The RPG 7 with Tandem warhead is way better for shorter distances.
But the Eryx is very good for shooting from a safe area, you can shoot way further back and still have great chance to hit, due to guided missle.

Well I never destroyed a HUMVEE or a Truck with on RPG hit. When I did the guys inside still had enough time to get out of the vehicle.
When the AT4 makes 80% damage then I think its too much. I personally like that you are not able to track or destroy a APC with a LAT.
When a APC got hit by a LAT he usally moves back to repair, which gives the Infantry a bit more space.
When your team is good enough everyone with a LAT trys to shoot that APC. Which should be (after 2 hits) a clear kill.

Practically there is no significant difference to RPG-26 and RPG-7's damage.
But RPG-7 is a lot more plentiful and has better sights. Get good with RPG-7 and it will serve you well on many more maps AND it does fairly well against choppers.
Militia and MEC both face similar BluFor armour.
Currently, the FLIR + smoke combo greatly upset the "balance" between infantry and armour(assuming people knew how to use smoke as driver). Against a decent APC crew, even two-shot LAT kits are difficult to kill APC with(because they can smoke up/run WHILE shooting back at you with FLIR on).
The least MEC can have is two LAT rockets per kit.

That's not the point.
The point is that MEC only has option for ONE RPG-26, while RUS and US have option for two shots.
At least PLA has a nice scope; RPG-26 has shitty sights AND shitty damage.

If you can't destroy a truck on RPG hit; you are doing something wrong.
Trucks die instantly to RKG too; you just need to NOT hit the canvas cover on logi trucks.

can we have devs opinion about mec lat kit?

Ye its being talked about. Problem is that we would need additional animations for the second LAT deployment. Hopefully someone will work on it.

Why is there a need for second lat deployment animation?
Can't it be the one played when pulling out the RPG-26 in first place?

That looks shite. A proper reload animation would include throwing away the old launcher first. If we just reuse the deploy animation the old one just disappears. That being said, we already have the reload animation done for the next patch

I was just thinking the LAW ditching animation could just be ported over.
So two RPG-26 for RUS(I would still take scoped RPG-7 because scope is much better than RPG-26 sight, unless rear aperture of RPG-26 is going to be enlarged to be more realistic) and MEC LAT kit(STD) confirmed?
What about Militia?
What about PF-89?

Great! You could just loop the existing animation, placeholder animation

Like USMC alt lat (m72law) has. It just repeats the animation when you take a new shot. It's not eyecandy but it works

That would look shit as Mats said. And also the new animations are done according to Mats. Didnt know it myself until now.

just give the MEC alt light AT a RPG-7(not scoped) and the bluefor armor will be afraid.
there is no reason why they cant have it, also the mec alt hat kit should have a taden RPG since bluefor also have unguided options.

While we're on the subject of giving second shots to AT kits, how about giving another rocket to the german HAT kit? I remember hearing that german soldiers carry multiple rockets on them, plus it would bring it up to par with the russian HAT kit, which also has two shots.

Russian hat kit is ineffective past 200m and does not do as much damage; it does not instantly kill challenger2 from a side shot.
Pretty sure German Panzerfaust has no such problems. And it has a better scope. Does it not have a rangefinder?

no, just a rule.
