[Vehicle] Soviet T-54/55

Hey guys,
So I get a heads up from MikeDude that there might be someone on the PR forums interested in a T54/55, after showing mine off.
T-54/55 - Album on Imgur
I made this almost 2 years ago so it would definitely still require some touch ups and it wasn't made with BF2 specifications in mind so i don't know what would need to be changed in order to make it work. Currently sits at 50,412 tris.
This was made initially for a very promising Men of War(RTS) mod that sadly stopped it's development eventually. But it was a very nice learning experience and has been one of the more detailed and interesting models I'v done so far. That said I can tell already that it has quite a few excessive details(especially for a RTS model) that would need to be removed/reworked.
But yeah I'd be more than happy to hand this over to anyone interested in it. Afterwards if it does become game ready it'd be all in your guys' hands and can do whatever you want with it.
Cheers

Looks great!
I was thinking of trying to put together a T-55 before.
Is the fuel tank removable?

Nice model but it is far too high poly for PR:BF2. It would need a serious amount of optimization since our tank models need to be around 10k tris, which in the case of this model would mean reworking quite a lot of it, although it would make a nice high poly model to bake textures from but would need a few tweaks even so to make some really good normals from.
We also do have a T-55 model to hand from the USI mod which we are allowed to use, but it needs a proper export with a full set of LODs before we can use it:
Ideally we need someone to fix up some of the errors (like the buggy UVs on the wheels), make a new full set of LODs and re-export this tank

Looks great! You should try to help some ComFacs with their projects...
And if you will want to try modelling for PR, you should get used to using max9.
Also AFAIK MoW had some tris/polys limitations too, because it was built on 2005-2006 year engine.

Thanks and yes they are.

Majority of the poly count come from the excessive details like the box clamps, bolts and such. Removing all those would easily cut about 10-20K down. But yeah glad to see there is one already!
And thanks for the additional info though.

Most likely using Maya though. And yeah MoW has some pretty nasty limitations, this was intended to be optimized quite a bit but the mod closed before that point.

Hey, glad to see you here!
If you can get your model down to the max poly count it can still be used, rightt?
Like Rhino said, the other one they have ''permission'' to use still needs a lot of work anyways. If you are up to downgrade yours to PR standards, that would be awesome! I'm sure the devs can help you with all question you have. Just post them here and they will reply within milliseconds

Right Rhino?

Its far easier to fix up the USI T-55 which has UVs, textures etc, than to optimize that model, have it UVed, textured, then exported and LODs made etc.

Epic progress!
