I'm gonna tell you a Story from my Army Time (German Army)here goes:

We were on the shooting Range with some American Troops.
Before the Americans fired our G3A3s their Seargent held up an M-16 and said: "This is Made by Matel Toy Corporation.
Beware of the Kickback of the G3!!!"

Even after he said that some of the Soldiers went home with a Black eye because they tried to fire the G3 like their M-16.

Conclusion:
The G3 is much stronger than the M-16.
For the love of God give the G3 more stopping power.
A 3 round burst from the M-16 is a Kill from the G3 it isn't atleast if I fire it.
Probably I don't know how to handle the G3 in game.
I can't hit **** with it.
In Real life I can.

Somebody please help me!!!!


P.S.:I think A Dev said that the MEC army is funded by using oil Money so they could effort any Gun they like.
Well if thats the Case why don't they use a more Modern Weapon like the G-36????

In all seriousness the G3 for me is quite a formidable weapon in game. If you spend the beggining of the round looking down the ironsights, and firing off a few rounds to see where they hit against a wall or soemthing, you can judge better where the shots will hit. I know it sounds silly, and you look like an idiot shooting the wall, but it works!

Use single shot unless closer than 10 meters. 2-3 single shots to the body will kill. Full Auto is just too much recoil to hit something at a medium-long range

I always assumed the reason the MEC use the G3 is that the PR devs wanted to differentiate the MEC and Insurgent factions, and the G3 and HK21 was already modelled by DICE and freely available. TBH I'm personally not very excited with the MEC armament atm, but obviously it isn't finished.

Anyway, about the G3. Apparently I'm not the only one having a hard time adjusting to it.. I usually go Grenadier with MEC, just to get an AK. But the G3 is plenty powerful, and useful for quick kills at longer range. At least for me.

The MEC will never get all G36s, because PR would be accused of copying PoEs loadout system for the German Heer.

I quite like the G3, but I would like there to be a few more variations (which are coming up in the next few releases hopefully). I think specops should get a G36 with red dot sight, so it is atleast equal with the UK and US specops M4.

to me the g3 seems like a pretty good weapon. It could use a little more stopping power & a little more recoil. But it does kill, and it does kill fast. Though I still do prefer the ak, mostly because of the lower recoil.

The G3 is a better weapon than the M-16 in PR I find.

Well not that I doubt the G3 has more stopping power, but the amount of kick it has shouldn't be the indicator.

7.62x51 calibre weapons do about 15% more damage than the 5.56 calibre weapons. Another important difference is that the 7.62 weapons carry more energy (aka do more damage) over a longer distance than the 5.56 weapons.

If anyone experiences situations where an M16 is doing more damage than a G3 it's either server lag, marksmanship, an armored target versus an unarmored target or.. some combination of the above.

I very much agree. The lack of scopes and red dot sights for the MEC and PLA factions is a significant balance problem.

Agreed. And for the record, a 3 round burst from an M16 to the chest of an armored hostile will not kill him. I've always found the G3 much more powerful, but I don't mind ATM, because half the USMC are M4 whoring anyway.

sights for the g3 are in developement and china will get sights (scopes) for the riflemen in 0.5

a submachinegun? i actually like the hk53 (or whatever number it is), one of my favourite rifles in the game

That's how I feel. I wish the MEC would just the newer range of Russian arms available.

What about Finnish made rk-95?

It's said to be the best ak-47 variant in the world.

It can be mounted with these accessories red dot sights, telescopic sights, bipods, tactical lights, night vision devices and sound suppressors.

It can fire rifle grenades too

No, MEC tankers should have the P90. The spec ops should have the HK53 or MC51 with an RDS.

Yeah it's a great weapon, but doesn't quite fit to MEC or any faction in PR
It's not wide spread like other AK variants. Only Finnish Defence Forces use it according to that wikipedia article.
