Kozelsk idea

Long story short: more action at unused South Facility & Launch Facility

During my PR career, I have probably never ever seen proper battle (AAS version) in South Facility or Launch Facility. Both would have ideal places for some nice CQB. But the chances for fights at those flags are so damn rare. I know skirmish playmode is focused on those areas, but w/e.

If you just create a layout (alt perhaps) that is more focused on South facility / Launch Facility area. Like Khami ALT is focused on Al Khidir city.

Maybe a lay-out where you still got the whole map but the Russians have to use their amphibious capacity to attack these flags? Along with a Mi-8 it should be suitable.

Place helicopter carrier in A13-5 area :p One Mi-17, BRDM-2s, BMPs and BTR-80s

THIS. I think this would help a lot. It would be tough to camp the Russian main. Where the russian main base is currently, have it as a flag kind of like Saareema style. Or have 2 first cap flags. But it's hard for a lot of PR players to plan accordingly apparently. I think it would be cool. But the map is not played since it's "too hard for the militia".

I would love for this map to have insurgency on it (I don't think it does, correct me if i am wrong!). Have the russian carrier would be perfect. It would be a great amphibious insurgency map!

Devs? What do you think about amphibious assault to Kozelsk - AAS ALT layout? I was thinking about these assets.

So this would be helicopter carrier / cargo ship in A13-5 area. When it comes to flag layout, Russian mainland HQ could be the first flag for Russia and tunnels / militia FOB could be the first flag for militia.

2x Mi-17
3x RHIB
2x BRDM-2
(1x unarmed BRDM-2)
2x BMP-2 (or BMP-3+BMP-2)
1x BTR-80A

Militia

5x Logi
3x Transport logi
4x bikes
6x technicals
1x SPG
2x BMP-1
2x T-62

this is my artistic view of possible flag layouts :D one colored line is a flag layout
Image

Militia:

1. Launch facility
2. South Facility flag
3. Militia FOB
4. Russia shoring point (Ex-Russia mainland HQ)

1. Militia training compound
2. Tunnels
3. Russia shoring point (Ex-Russia mainland HQ)

1. Militia training compound
2. Militia FOB
3. Russia shoring point (Ex-Russia mainland HQ)

1. Militia training compound
2. Hill / Bridge area flag
3. Russia shoring point (Ex-Russia mainland HQ)

I remember a while back when there was an insurgency test event and you would fight alot more.in those areas. Even all the way in the nw corner of the map, that was really cool.

3dac member kilojules once made a ins layer that was used in a event i believe. I wanted to implemented it for next release but he has gone MIA :( if I have an abundance of time I'll make a ins layer later on for next version but don't count on it. Community is free to make one themselves though.

Aas layers also have plans for some balancing. A carrier/cargo assault is out of the question though. There are much better ways to archieve more gameplay on the west flags with the current main then a unrealistic ship assault.

Is it meant that the bushes around Militia training camp cant be walked/crouched/proned through? You walk up a invisible wall when you try to go through the bushes (south of the flag it occured to me) had the squadleader bug and no flag seeable bug aswell

That's not a bug, those bushes indeed have player collision. They're vBF2 assets so I guess someone at DiCE didn't like bush ninjas. :p
