Project Reality Windows 10 Startup problem

Hello the Project Reality Community
I am facing a issue with Project Reality v1.3 Standalone on the new Windows 10 OS. I have just recently upgraded (downgraded?) from Windows 8.1 and it worked perfectly on that system, now that i have Windows 10 the program wont start, i have tried changing the compatability settings to Windows 8, 7, and Vista, but none of these options allow the game to start up. I absolutely love this game and have played it for a long time, it is a shame and it really pisses me off that i cant start it on Windows 10 because i was just getting into the online multiplayer on it. If possible could anyone give me tips or fixes as i have googled it and had no resolve, primarily due to o course the recent release of Windows 10 itself (a few days ago). When the program starts up it shows the Project Reality logo and does not continue from that point forth. I looked in the processors tab on task manager and it appeared to be using absoloutely no CPU usage. This i found strange and unusual.
I also thought another problem could be Windows 10 overiding or deleting previous drivers/programs in which i installed in which are required to run the game, like Microsoft Framework or whatever it is called, and Direct X etc. But i have no clue on which extensions are necessary and am wondering if i should try a clean install of the game so that these kind of issues can be cleared up.
Looking forward to getting back into battle.
