Megas Casual Sound Modding

Hey guys,

I will try to keep this as short as possible: I will do some helping out in the audio department.

I already have submitted some stuff, volume tweaks for vehicles to make them more consistent and natural sounding compared to other similiar type vehicles (fennek, gwagon), an "unloopable" file was fixed (and I will fix anything I notice), serious audible square-wave distortion on a tank engine was removed.

I will continue my work but document it more, because for good reasons some people want to take a look at things before they are commited. ;) Hi Mats.

Something about myself:

I am a crazily passionate audio guy (very old videos inside) who has free time until october 2015 and loves PR. I dislike the sound though. So since I have the time I will do some community modding. I will do some Polish faction weapons and see if I can clean up the sound scape a bit.

Previously I have done some modding for arma, visited the guys at Bohemia this summer, and am helping the audio lead a little bit as a studio <-> community kind of dude.

Some vehicle weapon (arma engine's sound playback is SHIT, which is why it sounds a bit choppy)

Thanks.

It's back, it was temporary removed, Megagoth did want to receive green light from me to post this stuff.

All is good now and even better things are to come, my friends of good sound. ;) (: I am writing this, just so that I can post the smiley.

Hmm, so I recorded a BMP1 this weekend. The results are pretty nice although it's not as easy to make things sound great within the game.

Next time I'll spend some time with the T55.

I actually thought the bmp1 and 2 were the best sounding vehicles in the game. Why the change?

As soon as I get the chance. Next visit at the tanks guys will be all about it.

Compare these and tell me, if that pushing low end and the higher RPM do not feel like a tank driving.

Bass makes all the difference in some things and after experiencing things yourself you think differently about game sound. :)

Today I'll work on some explosions I think. Here's a taste.

I see your point though, sounds good.

Despite how condescending this sounds i agree with you about the bass.

? I don't mean to be rude. I often find it hard to be precise, direct and polite at the same time - given that english is not my native language and it's the internet people tend to misunderstand me a lot.

Yeah it's hard to tell what people mean over text. All is forgiven

Sound Tests. Youtube sounds a bit shitty due to compression in the inital "kick" of the sound SO PLEASE DOWNLOAD THIS FILE AND COMPARE THE TWO SOUNDS FIRST!!!

And here are some bursts (just dry in the editor, sounds better in context ingame)

Thanks. What exactly do you dislike? What do you think about the sound comparison? And what playback system do you use at what volume?
