I'm getting the MD5tool miss match error message after being connected to any server for more than 10 minutes. Does anyone know the best way to resolve this stupid message? I've been ignoring this message for a few weeks now, but it's finally gotten on my dam nerves :) Please don't tell me I have to uninstall everything or even reformat my drive. lol... There's got to be a better way.

Thanks Devs for the great mod. Can't wait til the next version is released!

Ditch the h4x0rz k1d!

No but I would just try reinstalling BF2.
Not sure if you're going to find a better solution.

...but it needs to tbe your first step. You need to confirm that it's not the installation that is causing the error. If you reinstall and still get the error then it's something else.

I reinstalled 1.41 on top. It still didn't help. I'm thinking I can't reinstall from the CD cause the patch is much higher. I think I'd have to uninstall BF2 before I can reinstall right?

1. Uninstall BF2
2. Install BF2
3. Apply Patch 1.4 full
4. Apply Patch 1.41
5. Profit

You're not using that bullet snap addon that was made by Survivor Grim are you?

I don't use anything. Just straight BF2 with patches and PRMM mod. I used to play POE2 and OPK, but I've unistalled them cause I play PRMM much more. What is a bullet snap addon anyway? Is it something I should be using? Or is it some stupid hack?

Please tell me you aren't asking if I'm cheating. I wouldn't know where to begin to hack, and I don't even care to know. Cheaters just plain suck!!! I won't even use an exploit, even if I knew where to find one on a map!

if the md5tool gives you a specific file, try replacing that one because it might have gotten corrupted. If thats it try getting a good copy of the file from a friend.

Relax, the bullet snap addon was just some sound mod a guy made a few months ago but has already been implemented and improved in PRM, I just though that could be the cause of the MD5tool miss match because I got it while playing with it.

Don't lissen to them! Not every problem is solved by uinstall and reinstall.

Now, lets take it from the top. It's been quite some time since the MD5Tool gave me a hickup, and I don't remember how i fixed it.

Edit: Ah, mattcrwi got it right. When installing, do you remember if the install gave you an error message? If so, did you write it down? Just ask a buddy to send you that file and throw it in - problem solved? Well ... yes and no. If its a major file ... unfortunetly - good luck on the new download and reinstall of PRM.

Ok, I'm relaxed now.

I've already completely uninstalled everything and defragged my drive. I'll begin the reinstall tonight when I get home from work. That MD5tool is a real pest. I was finally starting to have a good round last night and then poof it dropped me.

To late :) It did give an error with a particular filename, but I can't remember which file it was. Anyway I already uninstalled everything. I'll build everything back tonight when I get home. Hopefully that will kill the error once and for all. If not I'm going back to playing Pong :) Hehehe... I was running BF2 Special forces, but since I don't play that anymore I don't think I need to install it. Or do I?

Is there a full install for the 1.41 patch? I don't think there is but it doesn't hurt to ask right?

Thanks everyone for your help. Sorry if I'm being a pest. It's my problem, I'll deal with it.

Make sure you blow away the battlefield 2 directory after uninstall, so there's no left-over files.

And no, you do not need to redownload files.

Yeah, md5tool mismatch problems sometimes can be fixed by installing the full last patch, but if not, a full reinstall is sometimes the only option.

Depending on which file it's complaining about, you might get a buddy to zip up his file and send it to you, which might also fix it.

BrotherAlex wrote:I only find my self getting for MD5 miss match on Gloryhoundz. Why?
Because GloryHoundz is one of the servers with tougher anti-cheat protection. Other servers that I know also do this are Thor's Brigade and iGi.

The fact is that if you get such an error, your install deviates from what it should be. There are many reasons why that could be, but in the end, this provides the best anti-cheat protection available, currently.
