You might not think a whole lot about your username in game and how it affects your experience. But you should!

When leading a squad it can be difficult as hell to delegate tasks or ask questions to specific squad members when you can't pronounce your squad members names. Id say an essential skill any squad leader has to learn actually is just finding good ways to shorten your squad members names or even make them pronounceable in the first place.

There are some seriously weird nicknames out there, please consider changing them so I can actually speak with you, tank you!

TL;DR: We need more Bob's and less 34xurp_osdinf's.

I completely agree! We should reset the Master server database and demand players to chose a proper nickname.

IMO, it isn't such a big problem when leading a squad for me because I always call everyone by their role, for example if I need a breacher I say Breacher and not their name. But some names are really a pain in the *** to pronounce the first time for the kits setup, or when you want to report someone.

Yes, calling out the kit names instead of the player names is very useful, but not really applicable in all situations.

Like you said, when assigning kits, or when doing a mic check it's kind of essential to be able to pronounce their names! Or just when some dude is lagging behind and you want to tell him to catch up or if you want someone to drive a truck back to base. There are plenty of little situations!

Also I find that people respond better/quicker etc when you actually call them by name.

Just wanted to bring up this discussion!

Should be an in game tip when joining servers even to think about if you have a simple to use nickname in my opinion!

Many of the less capable players only respond to their names, not roles. Very annoying when SLing.

Maybe I should change my name to Rh1n0c3r05 to make it easier for people to read?

But yes I do agree with your point that the simpler the nickname the better

With all the PR teammembers trolling in this thread I just like to say that I agree with you.

Just imagine if these were our real names, and listening to the instructor try to pronounce them in elementary school!

They had a hard enough time with actual names. This would be a hoot!

my in-game name is PrivateTehRyan, could it be any more stereotypic G.I name & easy pronounced ? also guys do you remember the movie in which they saved the private named Ryan?

well my ingame name is gwaihir....its pretty simply....but 9 out of 10 people can't pronounce it

That tiny sequence of letters has just triggered me.

Just use your real name maaan

Noone uses their real name. So when you do, you automatically have a rare name

Lol. I remember when I was in Brazil I couldn't get people to correctly pronounce the short version of my name which was ONLY THREE LETTERS.



If you can't pronounce a name and you don't want to call them by their kit (or there are 2 of the same kits). Then assign them a "nick name" easier to pronounce and let them know. For example Bobby or Ricky or better yet make them feel disposable by assigning them a number lol.

Some name are just unpronounceable for me, I need to simplify the name and pronounce it with my strong accent.
