i cant work the demo i have restarted my computer as it said but when i click on it the screen goes black and then it just goes back to the desktop and nothing happens. its really pissing me off c'mon give me some help?

Assuming you're talking about the BF2 demo...
You know, this really is the wrong forum for you're question but here goes;

Does your computer meet the minimum required specs to run BF2???
If no, you're screwed.
If yes, Have you updated the drivers for your graphics card???
If not, try that and see if it helps.
If yes, try a Battlefield 2 troubleshooting forum. http://www.totalbf2.com
is a good place to start.

That WAS it for me.
The game went to black then flashed a few times and dumped me right back to the desktop.
After cursing Dice for about 10 nanoseconds I went and updated the drivers for my videocard. Worked like a charm ever since.

Rebooting your computer also works sometimes

I had that problem, and I just rebooted. Viola, no more problem.

i have the full version sitting here next to me, but it seems to hate me.

I think somethings wrong with my compy, but it just acts like i alt+tab it all the time, but then when i try and get into the game it just crashes.

i've tried it in my X800Pro compy and my 9600XT boxen and neither of them work.... maybe they dont like ATi...

it happens with GTA:SA as well, both EAX games. the only thing i can think of is, i use onboard sound in both of those boxen because i built them for processing mathematics and put a half decent video card in them just for show

u have a problem with the resolutions...i had the same problem...

if u run a forcerefresh or something similar...restore back the original settings...

basically what happens is that the game is running on different refresh rate than the desktop...it's a common bug with xp and some monitors...

if u need any more help let me know...think there is a switch as well..within a con file..that allows u to run all refresh rates...

I'm running a 9600XT with no problems. I also use the newest Omega drivers...

how do i restore the old resolution settings

Ditch the demo and get the game.........but im afraid i cant help you with your problem .
