An interesting bug...

Last night I was playing PR, respawned and discovered that something awful had happened to my AK.
I'm not sure if my videocard was overheating or what; it was the only texture that was screwy. I switched weapons, switched kits, but whenever I came back to the AK it was like this.

That does not look like a overclock problem. That would add texture overlapping artifacts. This looks too stable to be that. BF2 just couldn't grab the textures needed maybe.
When I run BF2 in windowed mode the ground loses texture for me and I can see though things. That's a worse bug. (And hax!)

Not really a bug.
(i think).
I ran my map on different computers (yes i installed bf2 and pr on a mac in college loool) and the texture for the ground was gone

well its not really gone, since its not synch (or whatever) to the screen res it just "disappears" (but its there). If you make take it out the windowed mode and into its normall "Bigness" then its ok again.
As for this "bug". Over heated

looks really cool, looks like PR Mod turned into a 70's Hippy Mode! w00t Whacky Tobbaci

Grooooooooooooovy, dude.
...Seriously, if that was the only texture going screwy, then I don't think it was your video card overheating. And a texture at least showed up, so...I don't know. Maybe your client file for the AK got corrupted?

This is no overclocking or over heating issue... i have had similar bugs, but that time all the incurgents looked like something from the movie TRON

Bright blue with a dash of neongreen
