Hi if your reading this hopefully your good at getting kills with a sniper. I'm a noob but been following the 4 sec rule after shooting and 8 sec rule after running but I just seem to struggle to get a kill. I'm within 600m and I'm deffently got my cross hairs on the target but when I shoot I 9 times out of 10 still miss even when I hold 3 to lisen when I'm holding my breath, but when everybody is talking on chat I have no chance hearing my breath then. I try to shoot mostly in prone. I do all this and watch some good snipers get some nice shots that I cant seem to do even tho in following the text in the book. Could you please give me some info on best ways of taking the shot. Thanks plz no stupid remarks just a new guy here trying to learn the ropes.

Become rifleman first, then someone else. I am sorry, but majority of community are against snipers and "recon" people, because majority of them are bad at it and are not valuable asset to the team.

Holding your breath doesn't really do anything except play a breathing sound cue for approx 8 secs.
My only advice is practice, practice, practice.

I can make a powerpoint with dozens of slides but i'll make it simple.
4 reasons why you should hate snipers.
They are campers.
They are useless for the team.
They often solo vehicules.
You are so pissed when you get killed by a sniper.

In order to get kills at sniper, you need to play as a normal rifleman for about 10 hours of playtime minimum.
Then the perk "Sniper Kills" will unlock for you.

How to be pro sniper in a few steps
1: Play Insurgency
2: Switch to insurgent side
3: Get Mosin or Enfield without a scope
4: Creep and Sneak
5: Get some easy kills by 1-shotting their legs
6: You are now pro sniper without a scope so no-scope 24/7

that only works if you've purchased the sharpshooter DLC

Indeed.
Yelling Allahu Akbar in local before/after each shot also greatly increases accuracy.
Also helps to know there is no bullet drop within 200m or something.
Use Mosin for extra skill.

This game has a feature where a sniper's rifle accuracy depends on how good of a job the recon squad (sniper + spotter) is doing. That means the number of enemy movements reported to the commander who are successfully marked on the map and then eliminated by the rest of the team, and also how many mortar/CAS strikes hit their targets (that are called in by recon).
With each successful "recon action", the bullet spread is slightly reduced and the damage is increased. After about a dozen recon actions you can kill someone in one shot instead of two.

Eh, Dude, we're just messing with you, you just have to practice and play with people who know what they're doing. As was said earlier, it's easier for you to stay in a normal infantry squad until you learn the game mechanics

So let me get this straight lol.
You're a "noob" (new player) but you're playing Sniper? Why are you doing that? Why not pick something like Rifleman, AR or Medic. Three simple classes you should use when you're new to get acquainted with the squad mechanics and wealth of classes.
If you're playing a Sniper and you don't have a spotter, you are useless..

Carra we aren't lying about being a normal rifleman first. Seriously.
Once you have played at lea st 5 rounds of infantry rifleman... you'll be much better as a sniper.

Lol yeh I got some people started joking so to u jokers hahahhaa very funny clap clap...I'm not a total newb or a pro either im just wanting to learn how to shoot good as a sniper..i haven't just downloaded the game and thort right im a sniper..ive played as rifleman and ar and transport..i guess im just gonna wait till i join a good squad with a good sniper and see if he/she �� would teach me a trick or 2...

Believing that there are DLCs for PR, apparently you are a total noob...
Let me reuse this part of an abstract on why you shouldn't do Sniper/Recon squads:
2.:The Squadleader of a normal infantry squad has just the same potential to spot and laze targets as a Spotter. And the 8 pairs of eyes of a full Inf-Sq always see more than the two or three of a "Sniper" or "Recon" squad.
3.:UAV, Vehicles and Helos will always see more than you do. While you are still trying to figure out what you are looking at, the APC with double zoom and thermals has already zeroed in on the target. This is especially true for INS maps.
4.:You will waste transport vehicles that are desperately needed by more important Infantry squads elsewhere. And no, Trans won't risk getting shot down just because you want to move to a different location every two minutes.
5.:It's just not worth to make a specialised sniper squad. They don't capture flags, they don't blow up caches, they can't defend locations without the help of another squad. But they block one of nine precious slots.
6.: Spotter kits should be reserved for the CAS squads, and used by people who know what they are doing.
7.: You aren't as effective as you think, you aren't as stealthy as you think, you won't make as many kills as you think.

Now, going out as a sniper alone withotu a spotter. Yeah dude, you're gonna be useless. And it means you're avoiding teamwork. It's much easier to play with a spotter who's gonna relay targets to you, who's gonna keep those extra 2 eyes elsewhere. Scan for enemies, all the while you have your weapon at the ready all the time ready to shoot the bad guys.
Also it drastically increases chance of survival if you get counter-sniped, if you get flanked, ambushed.
Lone snipers are wasting assets.

The thing is that you will never be a pro sniper in this game.. It's just not meant for it. You can get some kills but in the long run it won't affect the outcome of a match that much.

Are you sure? I've seen some extremely good sniper teams (teams!) do really well and positively affect the outcome for their team.
