Unlike regular high caliber AKs (or even 5.56 NATO rifles) this rifle usually takes 3 bullets to kill enemy infantry. It's like you're shooting with a pistol.

It feels like it's using a wrong projectile or something, one that does less damage than normal ones. Could someone check if something is wrong with its damage output?

Checked all our AK74's and all were using the right projectiles. These projectiles also didn't change neither did our materials. So don't think this is an actual issue?

3 shots is pretty normal on armoured inf for both sides I thought :O the netcode in bf2 is pretty shite so you'll see red-blood splats all the time but no actual damage inflicted

Weird, normally I can easily kill most infantry in two shots. Most certainly with 7.62 rifles or bluefor marksman rifles. With the Taliban's scoped AK-74 however it almost always takes three shots. I've heard other people complain about it too.

It might as well be the power of bias observation of course. Just thought I'd let you guys check the numbers to be sure.
