Scope VS no Scope

Ok the title might be little misleading but there's something that needs attention or even be re-considered as this has bugged me for while now and I suspect it's neither very realistic.

My issue is with the massive zoom in level on most scoped rifles ( especially the ACOG ) and the unquestionable, deadly accuracy over medium to very long distances. While the magnification might technically be correct (Eg x32 zoom on ACOG) comparing to the map and object size, I suspect that neither wind, micro terrain or distance has been taken into account at any level. I am aware that wind simulation is not possible in BF2 engine and that's fine but the accuracy and distance that simple Rifleman can shoot are on par with a dedicated marksman rifle.

On the other hand seeing anything past 50 or 75m with Iron sights land half accurate fire is a challenge on its own on max resolution at 1080p due to pixilation. The same goes for statics like the HMG. I know the taliban sniper rifle has rather basic magnification (x14 if I'm not mistaken) but it is fair to say that there's something out of place when I am having difficulties spotting the HMG gunner inside looking trough Scoped weapon while the HMG gunner has such clear view that before I can take the shot from half decent debris cover I am already shot dead with outstanding accuracy.

If anyone ever watched the Funker's You tube videos from Afghanistan, the soldiers are unable to tell most of the time where the fire is coming from let alone being able to return deadly accurate fire and end the firefight in matter of couple of minutes.

Meanwhile, also found this that seem to confirm what I think
