I'm pretty confident this issue has little to do with the mod but is a vanilla "feature".
Is there a way to make the game load a map while minimized? If you don't know what I'm talking about, join a server (or launch a local game) and Alt-Tab the game. The game will stop loading at certain points.
I'd personally prefer doing something else (watching porn, for example) while the game is loading in the background. I realize that the loading times of a game is not extremely long, especially if one has SSD, but it is still too long for me.

Playing in windowed mode allows it.

Nice, but how do I enable windowed mode?

Need to uncheck the full screen button in the options page. Warning thou, at some rezes windowed mode doesn't work at all well and the main menu is screwed up

I tried that one. It doesn't work for me. No difference at all if I uncheck the Fullscreen button, except that the game CTD'd once.
